Luke did mine (for about £1,500 all in I think). Took about a week.

I wouldn't say it's any better or worse than auto - both are great !

The auto was much easier in traffic etc, and the manual gives the car a bit more of a go-kart feel - and stops people saying "Oh....it's automatic!" when they get in.

Main reason I switched was the auto box went for second time; the first time was only clutches but it still cost £1500. Figured new clutches, or if anything goes wrong again, would cost a lot less wedge if it's manual.

SE did mine and charged a grand, I supplied the bits though. Incidentally I will have a spare manual box in the not too distant future ....

am considering this due to the rarity of good manuals around, am going to see adamR's on Sunday, need to try to persuade him to leave some of his bits on (sounds a bit rude!! :x: )

Tell ya what matey, went in my mates Auto Z yesterday as a passenger F**K it scared the pants of me, I still think autos rock !!! Speedy will get him to take ya for a blast in it mate you'll deffo change your opinions of Auto Z's then mate.

I think the ratios on the rear diff are different from Autos to Manual, so you would need to look at getting that changed as well - or am I talking rubbish?

I think the only difference is between TT and NA, so no need to worry about that. Some people put NA diffs on TT's to improve acceleration (but reduce top-end).

Hmm - I like THAT idea :)

I've never had mine to the top end in nearly 6 years anyway - my licence is just too valuable to me.

Do you have any idea have much time you can shave off the 0-60 etc ?

Also, do they run off the same prop, or do you need to change that too ?

Cheers Andy

Would an NA diff tolerate the increased torque that the TT puts out?

Not sure and dunno - in that order ! ;)

I think there's a write-up on the Aus forum about it, probably linked from somewhere on my site too.

Never mind - cheers anyway ! :D

Might ask Luke next time I'm up there though.
