ALL Clear tail lights..............

Right, there has been a lot of talk on here regarding various versions of the clear rear lights. Well I've just found some more, unless this has been posted before :slap: .

Anyway check out the link and see what you think.

CLEAR REAR LIGHTS

Prices

One thing that I have noticed, is that the reflector, although its position is still there, has been removed, so the fittment of another one would have to be done.

I agree, totally updates the look of the rear, without looking tacky, looks OEM to me! I did wonder why people only clear the indicator and not the brake lights, looks so much better!

I think the whole OEM rear light pannels look dated clear or not and the first thing I wanted to change on my car.

Your not the only one ;)

I especially likes the little comment in the small print about NOT BEING STREET LEGAL?

Is that for US or UK market?

I'm getting far too confused!

Red reflectors are a legal requirment in most countries, so if you fit fully cleared lenses you will have to stick some reflectors elsewhere on the back of the car. :nono:

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

A good law indeed - you wouldn't want someone driving into the back of your car whilst its parked in the dark would you :slap: ;)

Those lights look cracking, but they're far too expensive and illegal to boot.

I'm sure something similar could be done DIY for a lot cheaper.

Ok, how about this look then??

Just a quick photoshop, but you get the idea

Dave

The red reflector stands out to much in that position IMO. The reflector doesn't need to be on the rear cluster itself. IIRC you can have it anywhere on the back of the car.

This quote worries me a little:

"Our high-intensity LEDs consume 1/10th the energy when compared to stock."

Its been a long time since I last tinkered with electronics, but... is reducing the power consuption/load not likely to cause electrical gremlins in associated electrics?

PS, The LED's are dirt cheap 39p (79p if you opt for the wide viewing angle ones) from maplins, 25p if you buy 100+
