Any ideas what could be wrong now?? My car has just had a new clutch fitted, a standard Nissan one, now when im driving at about sixty miles an hour in fith I get a strange vibration, you can drive through it which made me think it was the wheels need balancing. But!!! If I put it in fourth and do the same speed, nothing?!? Smooth as a newly shaved babies arse, which believe me is pretty bloody smooth. Has anyone come across this before, could it be anything to do with the new clutch? Advise always greatly received.

Could be the propshaft carrier. Have the same problem though not too bad at the moment ( mine is an auto ) very smooth at most speeds etc but at around 50-60 it vibrates.

I think there are quite a few posts on here about it. Try search.

Is that the same as the centre prop bearing? If it is then I had it changed last June, done about 3000 since then so hope it hasn't gone again.

if it is changing with engine speed, then i cant see how it can be propshaft related.

I'm prob wrong though !!

Sounds like when the clutch was done the prop wasn't put back in the same place, i.e 90 degrees out.

How much of the clutch was replaced, friction plate, pressure plate, flywheel, all of the afformentioned ?

It was a complete clutch. It had a performance one fitted before which encompassed a clutch and flywheel combined so when it had a standard one fitted they fitted a second hand flywheel at the same time. Is this something I should take up with the garage that did the work?
