Guys

I have nice shiny polished stainless exhausts but - if I clean them, after only a couple of days they are covered in black again.

Is this evidence of a fuel mixture problem or just normal ?

Ha, mine too. I just get the valet team in every week, but you're right, they don't stay clean for a week!

Mark, not saying it is and not saying it isn't !! but have you looked for codes as it might be your O2 sensors have packed up....

Well I know I had a completely clean bill of health ECU wise, so it's not that on mine - unless the sensor that picks up when the O2 sensors have packed up has packed up too!

Ive done my o2 sensors , still get the black pipes tho ,

scorpion stainless stained steel :-)

Sounds like it's running too rich........

The tips on my (stock) system were black when I got the car and after cleaning, got dirty quickly again.

However since I changed the PTU and temp sensor, the tips of the pipes now stay clean.

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

dont worry every car ive had with stainless back boxes have got black on them after cleaning its just the carbon coming out as you have less filters in the exhaust system with after market exhausts i.e. straight through.

so just get your polishing cloth out!
