I have a small hesitation when I try to pull away quickley. It only happens from idle ( like off the lights) or when in traffic. But it is not noticeable under normall driving conditions.

Dont forgett I drive an Automatic N/A so it's not a problem with those Wizzzzzie things that you TT guy's have!!

Give everything a good clean. Clean the throttle bodies, water sensors, TPS, PTU connector, CAS connector. Change the air filters, fuel filter (Fuel filter is something people tend to forget about.)

Coolant temp sensor.

Thanks James, but what makes you say that?

I can understand cleaning everything, but I'v done most of that. So what makes you say coolant sensor?

Chris..

Sounds like the TPS (throttle position sensor) needs to be adjusted or has a corroded connector.

(see service manual EFEC, pg. 181)

Can you buy the temp sensor plug?

Yes, and it's 26 pound odd for the harness... I ordered one on Wednesday

Well, when mine had the same hesitation I replaced the temp sensor and harness and it went. I put the old one on again and it came back, I was just making sure that it was that causing the problem. IIRC there was a slight dip in the revs too before they rose.

Now I'm not saying this is the one and only cause of a hesitation becuase there are so many - just that it is definately one and through further investigation found out that the temp sensor is responsible for alot of how the engine runs. So replace it anyway I reckon, but the harness aswell as the wiring to it will prob be a bit worse for wear.

Where did you get the harness for for £26.00? Nissan uk or Courtesy.

Lookers Nissan in Manchester... the parts department there seem relatively tame!

...except the harness has arrived with a bit of connector missing.

I asked Mr F to get me a Temp Sensor and harness last year. When I went to pick them up I looked at the harness and noticed that there was only one connector in the harness, but two on the sensor. Mike thought it odd as well!

I think the harness is "multi-purpose". I didn't renew mine, worried that the single connector would mess things up. (I just cleaned it up proper!)

Perhaps others have used this replacement harness without problems?
