does anyone think it would be possible to take the cruise controll system off a auto Z and fit it to a manual Z without cruise or will it be a serious shitter of a job,

or does anyone want to come and do it for me in exchange for as many cups of mellow birds as they can drink biggrin.gif

I'm not sure about the Z cruise control equipment but on my old XJS the cruise control had things like a vacuum pump for the throttle to hold the speed and other mechcanical bits and pieces that would have been hard to retro-fit. If the Z's cruise is all electric then that may need alot of wiring changes! smile.gif

Trey is right..

The C.C. on the Z is ECU-based, and quite a bit of cabling, solenoids, handles, buttons and other bits and pieces are involved.

Also if you have a steeringwheel with airbag you need the C.C out of a Z with an airbag (or vice versa) otherwise you'll have to change the steering wheel as well.

The C.C on airbagged Z's is controlled by a small handle, while the C.C. on non-airbagged Z's is controlled by buttons on the steeringwheel

Sounds like a challenge though ! wink.gif

There are companies that do specialise in installing aftermarket cruise control. I've seen adverts.

Try a search!

;-)

None of the aftermatket cruise control are supposed to work acceptably on a turbo car (different way to maintain speed)

I wanted to install a Cruise Control into my wife Subaru Legacy SuperStation Turbo (with the ADW & the rallye engine ;-)...turned out to be a nightmare....

So, if your Z is a NA....easy....if not...good luck

Does anyone know what it actually looks like ? Where is it located (if under the bonnet, where ?)

My car is a UK 1993 Manual TT.

Your help is appreciated.
