Got an JWT single pop charger and tried fitting today

having some difficulty due to its size (very tight fit)

logged on and did a search and found a thread going back to august 2001

can somebody please put me straight :confused:

 

is there some sort of aftermarket splash guards for these type of filters???

(or whats recommended??)

where do i (if anywhere) attach the screw at the top middle of the cone??

 

any help would be appreciated

I didn't bother with that scew, just removed it if I remember rightly. And yes I believe there should be a splash gaurd there.

I beleive it is only the UK cars that have a splash guard fitted from the factory.

IMHO you do need one using an aftermarket filter.

Mine has one??? and its Jap spec!

 

Well someone had fitted it;)

the stud just pierces the splash guard (if you have one ;)) with the nut & washer on the other side

Mine has one too and its Jap Spec - Certainly looked standard to me as it originally had the Nissan Stock filter box in and when I rmoved a few months ago the splash guard was a stock one and connected to the bottom of the filter box.

 

Perhaps if people have had work done on that part of the car and the bumper or filter box has been removed its been ripped out and not replaced.

You 100% sure about that?

mine has a splash guard and it a jap, when i did my dump valves and filter, everything was standard down there (never been touched)
