Just ordered a timing belt kit from courtesy, anyone tell me if there are any special tools I'm likely to need?

Got a HICAS eliminator coming too :) Goodbye twitchy rear end and 30kg!

John, be aware that some of the HICAS eliminator still actually use the old HICAS arms, so if they are worn the problem will still be there.

john,

Nothing special in the way of tools required for this, only thing is that you will need is a set of a long reach allen keys for the bolt between the two rad pipes that go to the head, i didnt have it nad it caused me grief, everything else is standard spanner/ socket stuff. Need to have a chat to you about chips BTW, still having probs with your excel package, but all in due course. :)

Hi John, im looking to do the timing belt swap myself too, so when you do it id appreciate any comments on what parts are difficult etc.. and pics are always great ;)

What you say?

Mine doesn't :D

Got some lovely stainless steel custom made jobbies :D

you'll need a middle sized pulley puller for the pulling the crank pulley and loosening the crankpulley bolt can be a bit of a pain, especially with automatics.

Cheers for the replies. Clarkey, I'd take pics but don't have a digi camera yet!!

As for the HICAS arms, they're fine. The back's not loose as such, I just hate HICAS and the feeling it gives.
