You're gonna think I'm stupid but...

 

I bought an auto 300ZX and i don't know what the gear stick does.

 

Park, Drive and Reverse I DO understand.

 

What use are neutral, 1 and 2?

 

Also, the 'hold' switch... what does that do? (I'm guessing the 'power' setting is to go fast but I dunno what 'hold' is for. Someone said snow or something...)

Hold lets the car pull away steadier, i.e. better for diving in icey conditions, etc, i think it pulls away in 2nd gear from stop. Power just lets the engine rev higher before changing gear

That would be DRIVING in icey conditions, not DIVING

i thought hold kept it in what ever gear you were in

well it used to on my old inport

hi mate sorry but just had to..

 

the 1 is 1st gear and no more it's for towing and ripping your tyres to bit's

2 is the car will set of in 1st then change to second and no more, agian, good fun!

 

the hold button is really for ice and rain driving, the box won't shift down to 1st when stopped, when you press the accelerator you'll set of in second, good for low down exhaust note and using dump valves in an auto.

 

the power is for keeping the car in gear alot longer and right up to the red line without shifting up.

 

when your driving normal, bang your foot to the floor and the power light should come on and down shift fast!!!!! and it turns the air con off for more power.

Look he had this joke the first time he came on here. It's not funny anymore so everyone pack it in. I think it was on a Monday that he first came on here. Some other sh1t happened in between but by the Sunday he was chilled again.

Also, hold will stop it shifting down a gear or two when you want to overtake fast, but not rev the nuts off it, it lets the turbos push without the revs....
