Hi,

I am thinking about getting some larger injectors but know nothing much about them.

Does the different stages of tuning have anything to do with what size you go for. If I say just had a boost upgrade, zorst and induction would 720cc be pointless? Would 550cc make more sense?

Also, how difficult are they to fit? Is it a garage job and in which case tehn how much are they likely to want to put them in for me?

Cheers,

Justin

Plenum off job to fit unless you go for the dremmel method (search TT net).

Stock injectors are all you need for stock tubs as you shouldnt really be running over about 15 psi with them anyway.

555's will be good enough for a reasonable turbo upgrade

740's if your going for huge tubs like tdo5 18g and massive power.

I get ya,

Thanks Paul,

Don't think I will worry about them for the moment then. I need to gte other things sorted first I guess.

The yanks reckon 555's are good for 500RWHP, so probably not too much point going bigger unless you want to build a dragster.

With bigger injectors idle control and efficiency get worse, so there's no point going for 720's really.

For your mods, the stock are fine.

They say the maximum sized injector you can run smoothy is the same size displacement of 1 cylinder. The 300ZX is about 500cc per cylinder so the 555cc are a little but too large, so the idle wont be that bad, but can never be perfect.

Cheers for the reply John,

Would like to chat to you about socketing my ECU at some point soon if that is ok.

Thanks,

Justin

Also 555's are the max size you can get for a pre 94 model anyway unless you go for a border fuel rail (which i am :hyper: )

But as everyone has said unless your going down the bigger turbo route theres no point yet!!

I don't know where on earth you summoned that information from, 555's have a perfectly smooth tickover. I'm sure many other 555ers out there will agree. Whoever says otherwise, probably didn't have a chip for them LOL!
