Cheers boys. Ordered some from Delta Oil this morning. Vijay, I only just read your post regarding a discount. Doh!

Ordered four of the 1 American Quart pots so that should be plenty for the box.

Just ordered some too, saved a whopping 92p a bottle by being a forum member :hyper:

The carriage was free too which is pretty good.

What the hell is a quart anyway?

Aren't litres, pints, or gallons good enough for them?

Has anyone tried this stuff, is it as good as they say it is?

I hope so cos my gearbox is pretty hopeless when it comes to doing fast gear changes.

A quart=0.946L apparently.

But according to the other threads, 3 quarts should be enough... Anyone actually done this recently who could tell us?

Yes... you need four.

But what is the actually capacity of the box? If it's between 3 and 3.5, 2 paople could buy 7 and split one. Saving of atleast £20 each. I guess you would have to be reasonably local to one another.

I'm afraid me and my ZX are out in Switzerland, so not much chance of me splitting a can with someone.

By the way, an English quart is exactly two English pints.

Don't know if the Yanks even have pints – what do they use as measures for their beer – surely not litres? Quarter quarts and half quarts???

I'll get me coat....

QUARTer of a gallon...

The Septics do have pints - but they are smaller. An English pint is 20 fluid ounces (why?) but US use 16. Hence the smaller gallon too.

They measure drinks in fluid oz usually - 10oz can of Coke = half of one of our pints and just over half of one of theirs...

...I'll get me coat.

I'll be getting me self some off this then...

1st gear is a bit tricky once sitting in traffic for a while and the heat builds up.

That's more likely to be your clutch than gearbox.

And of course a US quart is 2 US pints, or a quarter of a US Gallon which is 20% smaller than one of ours ...

steve i need some tooo me thinks

Im ordering some tommorow as he was just off out when i rang.

He does a 20% discount with FREE delivery for members

Speak to you bout it when you got a min :smash:

O.....really

Its an uprated Helix jobbie that was fitted about 1year ago...

How quickly do these wear as it seems fine under full load..no slipping.

Will it just need some adjustment on the clutch pedal or is it something else andy?

Thanks

bleed your clutch, I have been driving around thinking my box was showing its sign of age and 120,000 miles, however I bled the clutch last week and now it feels beautiful, much smoother changes and it goes into reverse a lot easier, its probably the best it has ever felt in all my time of owning her.

jobs a goodun, it literally took me 5 minutes (easy to get to the bleed point under the car by just popping wheels up on a high kerb)

I have redline mt90 in my gearbox also, it made a big difference to the feel,

122,000 miles on a manual, thats 3 new autoboxes!!! ;)

LMFAO

I have Redline in my current manual box and it didn't make any massive difference to my slowly decaying syncho on 4th. However, for my brand spanking new box I have just bought Silkolene fully synth SYN-5 75w/90 - much cheaper than Redline and can't be much difference in performance.

Got it from Oilman (Simon).

He is currently doing and 'order now and collect at JAE' deal.

I also got enough to do the diff too - thought I might as well since it's never been changed in 80,000miles/13 years !

Yer...my 4th gear takes a while to change too :smash:

I see what you mean by the price difference...

The properties look very similer of the two....

Might opt for this instead as I can do the gbox and diff for the cost of doing just the gbox with redline!

Thanks Andy

Mine is also slow into reverse when hot or been sitting in traffic.

Will bleed it asap and see if it helps...

Thanks for the tips guys
