What's the best deal on rear tyres for standard wheels. Size, make and approx price.

The outer edge of both rear tyres have worn badly. Nissan dealer says track rod ends have gone but they look and feel OK to me. Any ideas.

I need to change my tyres on the front, what speed rating tyres suit the Zed best? I have Y rating currently, can I use W rating?

Alasatir.

Yes, but you might have to drive slower!!!

:rofl: :rofl:

It is IMPORTANT that you check your speed rating before buying your tyres - as choosing a lower tyre speed rating could INVALIDATE your INSURANCE.

y = 186mph

w = 168mph

I guess it depends on what the insurers think you should have - which would be the same as the manufacturer.

Try your local Kwik-Fit for supply only.

Standard Michellin pilot sports £100 ea. cash.

Should be able to get them fitted at a local garage for

about £5-7 ea.

But get your rear tracking sorted first.

Hi Alistair

Any speed rating from W upward will be fine.

W & Y were sub-divisions of the Z rating introduced a couple of years ago.

Z rated meant up to 200mph, the W & Y were made in the interest of costs - how many cars can actually hit 200mph!?

You must have the same letter rating on the same axle, though.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Thanks Richard, I saw some Pirelli P6000 225/50 R16 W for around my budget.
