So what are these style car parking bollards all about then? At my local Gym there's these ridiculous bollards that are about the size of a medicine ball, mounted on the ground and are made of concrete with ingrained stones. How pleased I was then that I found a space right next to them in the car park so that no prat with an A Reg escort could try and sqeeze in to the already tiny spaces this place provides. Coming out on a high after gazing at all the girlies in tight tops and spandex and decided to exit the car park the other way. Whoops, totally forgot about the bollard which you can't see at all when in the car.

 

I now have quite a lot of damage to the Sill and a bit on the door. Does anyone know where I can get this sort of damage fixed in the Kent/Sussex area or would all decent body shops do it? I presume it will pull out as replacing a sill must be a no no.

 

Better still, some nice cash in hand for anyone on here who fancies a gaunt to the country :-)

Pulling metal to get a good finish is difficult, I have had my rear sills replaced due to rust, you just need a bodyshop who is good with a welder, mine made me up the new sills themself.

How much did it cost?

I had both rear sills replaced for £140 cash

 

The bloke seriously undercharged though and said he should have charged double that,

Where are you based? I'm in East Sussex but I go to a garage in Crawley to get the bodywork done - they do a good job and it's reasonable too. Let me know if you want their details. :)

The car is perfectly driveable so I can get anywhere. I have just had an esitmate for £600 if the guy pulls the panels out. Probably quite a bit less if I get the spare parts i.e. Sill and Door.

 

I'd like the details if you can pass them on.

They are called ARS (Auto Repair Services or something) and they are based at Spindle Way in Crawley. Don't have the number to hand at the mo.
