I'm in the process of removing the sump with the engine still in the car. But in order to remove the driver's side "big metal plate jobby" (I think it's called a gusset but that usually means stained crotch parts to me) I've got to get the oil filter mounting bracket off first by the look of it.

Has anyone ever removed this and/or knows what the best way to do it is? There seems to be a waste gate actuator gubbins in the way of two of the bolts.

Any advise appreciated.

Cheers

And... BTTT again. Come on guys, I don't want to have to ask TwinTurbo.net, they're not as friendly!

Hi Mike

I have just looked at the manwell

This is what it lists

1. Remove oil filter & bracket

2. Remove engine rear gussets both sides, looks like a shield in the manual.

3. Disconnect A/C tube clamps

4. Disconnect steering column lower joint ect ect

Dont know if that helps, do you not have CD manual from Z centre?

I can't see any way of removing the oil filter bracket as bits of the turbo are in the way. I can't see any way of removing the gusset with the bracket still in place! Aaaarrrrgh!
