My windscreen was hit by a stone this morning, swung up by a lorry...

I had a look once it hit and thought, that was a lucky one...!!

Well, I got that wrong!!! My wife found the screen was now cracked all across the bottom....

Anyone have recommendations on who to use???

Before you ask I am full comp. I think I've got £50 excess windscreen on my policy.... (Bl**dy hope so, anyway!!)

Cheers

Ben

Hi Ben,

Yeah, you've probably got it covered if you're fully comp. I don't think you'll have a choice though, as your insurance company will probably tell you who to use.

just hope you have a UK spec then, cos a replacement screen will be UK spec which is a different colour tint to jap spec, looks silly having multicoloured windows tbh :(

Hi Ben

Got a quote from RAC a few months ago for about £170 or £200 cant remember which but worth a try(top tint)

It's not the cost you need to worry about, it's the damage they'll do to your paint and trim taking it out!!! Make sure you watch them like a hawk, whoever does it.:( If they scratch to metal whilst cutting it out, you'll not see it once the new screen is in, but in a few months you'll know, when the rusting starts, *******s have done this to me before on previos cars!!

Ben,

I've had my front screen replaced 3 (maybe 4) times and although they could do damage, I have never had that problem. It does take a good dew hours and you cant drive the car for a few hours after they have finished.

Is there a write up on that somewhere?? Is it easy to do?? (obviously once the screen is out!!) but from the perspective of doing the 'sticking down' etc.....

Any advice appreciated.

Matty.

Ben

DOH!

I am sure you can get it cheaper than the £1000.

I remember a thread a few years ago about it and people said the £1000 was terrible.

I think Ajay have had a windscreen or 2.
