As I said before bought my 300 couple of weeks ago pressure of work has meant not much time to play with it!).

The garage couldn't tell me much about it but going through some of the bills etc have found the following:

Its a 1993 UK auto

SE Maxflow Ait intake kit and SE Dump valve kit fitted Sep 2003.

Piggyback ECU,

ITG Induction Race filters,

Mongoose Exhaust system,

and "Custom Aluminium Air box System" all fitted in 2001.

Would like some advice/information on what I've got here as being a newcomer (saw the car when I bought the wife an MR2 and decided "what the hell" looks good i'll buy it!!

:D

cant see why you would have an air box, custom or otherwise when you have an induction. The induction kit is suppoosed to replace the standard airrbox and filters???

I know a few people who have looked into a custom airbox to cut down on the wet getting into the filter and increasing the cooling to the airflow, aparently there is one for the clio and it can add 20+bhp onto it which is alot for a little car so if it can do something like that for the zed then its worth looking into it.

Having looked under the hood cant see any trace of a custom mod - my real question I suppose was that these mods seem to have been carried out over the last 4 years and apart from my problem with the auto box not going into 3rd what would be the next stage in evolution for my beast?? I'm not interested in looking like a reject from The Fast and the Furious but would appreciate some advice on the "sensible" mods/improvements for the 300!

neons of course

lol

I would say a boost controller and de cat pipe would be the next on my list of upgrades

Neon washers,

Undercar Neons,

Neon Number plate surround,

Neon Baseball cap (Worn backwards)

Neon Padded seat belts,

Spoiler on the roof, not on the boot,

Green sided lights,

14 year old Girlfriend (Neon optional)

Flashing Neon tyre valve caps.

Internal Ultra Violet light, stolen from a bank note tester,

That should give you 1000bhp ;) and you wont look like a FATF reject

Stuart

and neod dice

and a neon budweiser clock

should finish it off

Personally to just improve on an already decent car I have done exhaust and induction,

What I have coming soon is, Chip, uprated suspension and new wheels to bring it into this millenium, A lot of people enjoy traction control and a boost upgrade to around 15psi. That is the stuff which is pretty straightforward to do.

Personally I want increased handling...

Think I might give the neons a miss although fluffy dice look kinda cool dont you think?

Boost controller sounds a good idea - where isthe best place to source one?:D

The Greddy boost controller seems to be in fashion this week - and there's a dealer in the trader's forum

Some preventative maintenance might be good - you don't say how many miles it's done but it might be worth thinking about things like bushes / tracking / other suspension-related things. I'm going to get mine on a ramp and give everything underneath a good wiggle around! Lots of people also get a boost gauge but the Greddy display should give you that anyway...

Similarly, aftermarket oil pressure / water temp gauges is a good early warning system. Stock gauges for both are pants.

Oh yeah, and an aftermarket cooler for the auto box!

Get some body kit - especially a new front - as the standard one is looking old hat now. No doubt this will end up in fight club.

But seriously there is a lot of stuff around to modify the body work if you want to go down that road.

Good luck,

Geoff.

Thanx guys - she's done a few miles (over 100000) but still seems to be in one piece!

Boost controller sounds good - will investigate once the transmission has been sorted (hopefully this weekend!)
