steering wheel upgrade

Thinking about a new steering wheel as the quotes I've had for new leather on standard wheel are just scary!

Looking for inspiration, anyone got any pics of aftermarket wheels that look good in their zed?

I have a momo melenium fitted to mine and looks sweet, but there is a prob!! when takeing the wheel off, mine had the rear wheel stearing sensor under the wheel meaning it is now not working, not a real prob but ur hicas light will come on when doing long straight runs. im going to the reading meet so if ur going there i can show you it!

Hi all

I believe you can purchase a wheel boss with the HICAS sensors, which will enable the fitting of an aftermarket wheel such as a MOMO and enble the HICAS to work properly.

I don't know who makes them, but they cost a bit compared to a regular wheel boss.

Richard:)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

not too much of a problem for me, I have a NA manual without cruise control so should be a nice simple and relatively cheap upgrade :)

the millenium does look nice. How much is a standard boss? and what size wheel is the standard zed one? Guess I could go outside with a tape measure but cant really be arsed ;)

Standard boss was about £30, the meleniun comes in 2 sizes, i went for the lager one, its still quite a bit smaller that the original:)

I've recently fitted a Momo race wheel (no piccies though, sorry).

Went for the 280mm which is the larger size, although still a lot smaller than the original. From my driving position a bit of the dials are obscured, but it feels soooooooooooooo much better than the original. Paid about £150 for the wheel, then just over a £100 for the boss (hicas jobbie from MJP).

Worth every penny though :D
