Whats the difference?

I have a manual TT car , is it worth me buying a stock auto ecu

with a view to socketing it for a modded chip?

The auto ecu I have in mind is cheap thats why I ask.

Thanks for any help

Mark

I have a SE-style ;) aftermarket chip in mine and it I dont think it's transmission specific.

Or if it is I've had no problems... :D

Dunno about stock tho - though I remember something about one fitting in the other, but not the other way round. Or something... AndyZ'll know.

As far as I know the Auto ECU will owrk on Manual car

but

the Manual ECU will not work on an Auto.

My car was Auto and I convert it to Manual. I am still using the Auto Ecu no problems

Other than the chips the ECU's are the same, so if you're buying it to socket it'll be fine.

If you want to socket it, I can do it if you don't want to try it yourself.
