what's the realistic 0-60 and 1/4 time for Twin Turbo ZX's?

as above, what's the real 'REALISTIC' 1/4 mile times u lot get and 0-60 times on stock zx's and what 1/4's and 0-60's u modded lot getting?

very interested :D

TT 0-60 stock is around 5.6-5.7s depending on manual/auto I think.

I've heard stock 1/4mile time quoted at 13.8s but I think that's too low.

My best 1/4mile is 13.5@106mph, dunno about 0-60 - difficult to test, around ?5.2secs I would hope. Anyone tested it reliably?

not too shabby on 0-60 then, slower then the rx7 i had but that was stupidly light ;)

when u say 1/4 13.8 too low, do u mean it's too slow for stock, so a stock should be getting quicker times? or do u mean a stock will be slower then 13.8? is your's stock? if so 13.5 in a stock auto so a should stock manual should be quicker? (if good driver) good news!

any1 else?

Sorry I mean I think the stock quoted 13.8s is too quick, tho maybe it is possible with a perfect launch, track etc...

I've got intake, exhaust, decat, chip, ALC and boost jets. And mines an Auto.

Another fact that floats about here it that manuals are quicker 0-60, but that autos are quicker 0-100, which would mean autos are quicker over a 1/4 mile... Shock horror! ;)

Plus it would take perfect gearshifts in the manual to reach quoted times, whereas autos change the same each time.

Anyone care to comment on this? :D

Hmmm... but then autos have smaller turbos than manuals so you'd think the autos would be quicker to 0-60 and slower to 100?

Whats that all about? Anyone?

Would it be anything to do with the differing gear ratios

The times given for the Z are for the 2 seater Z which is quite a bit lighter

Ahh yeah thats probably it.

I got 6.18s 0-60 at Trax 2003 whilst running 280bhp @ the fly. Had lots of wheelspin though.

that'll negate the generous trax timing gear then. :)

i've bought a slow car then :(

any advantages of the car?

Yeah - you'll look less of a tw@t in it than when your driving your BMW

D'ya think?

Vikki would'nt let me get a series 3 RX7, cos she reckonns they're girls cars.... I like em, and so does she, but apparently men driving them is just "wrong"

ok just reread what i wrote, and can see some people may find it offensive!!

sorry! i love the cars looks and i'm sure that 3.0v6 TT sounds fantastic, interior looks yummy too! was just hoping it was a bit quicker.. but it is a heavy car i'm sure.

BM comment was justified... i'm a nice bloke in a wrong car tho :)

Mind you, the only car I really feel like a tw@t driving is my s13.... its worse than my damn Carlton estate!

no way a RX7 is a girls car, Mx5 yes.. but the RX7 is a stripped out no comfort no compromise race car, they are stupidly quick in stock form but with some mods just become unbelieavable! 180 out the can, and 0-60 in 5.2 on the stock UK (235bhp) version, some jap versions go to 280bhp. i will have another one day :) it's a batmobile in black :)

Mmm I dunno, I see your point as it is a beautiful car, and not about muscle; in the visual sense.

But as far as styling goes it's a frigging masterpiece IMO.

Fair do's - top reply!

300's really are'nt slow y'know, I've seen plenty of 14 second stock FD3's(is that right?) at the Pod.....

done a 0-60 in 4.7 secs timed with a Gtech pro. not tried a 1/4 mile yet :)

your car modded?

induction, zorst, chip, boost upgrade, lightweight flywheel, stage 2 clutch & Racelogic TC

:)

mine coming has induction kit, and exhaust not sure what other mods other then uprated LSD :)

so shud be fairly quick then if i get the ecu sorted.

any probs with boostcreep on these cars?

I reckon it takes a good 1.5-2 seconds to get to 5mph, then 5-60 is a blurr :D

Seriously, from a rolling start is where the zed whups serious ass

Not forgetting 60-over 160 ;)

paul c, i'm near bromley.

did 160in the rx7 on a private road (ofcourse officer) with girlfriend in car but she told me to slow down, wanted go further tho so i'm hoping the 300zx will take me passed that (on private road again officer)

:D
