Hi all,

I'm looking at 300's at the moment.

I have a bit to spend, enough for an R33 but not enough for an R34 :(. However I much prefer the shape of the 300zx especially the modified versions in comparison to the GTR's.

Since the price of the 300's is a lot lower than the R33's I will be looking at buying a nice one and spending the extra money on getting it mechanically 100% first then going to work on mods (body, engine, brakes and suspension).

I know this may sound a little shallow, But I'm not very good at choosing so I need your help to choose. I care about what other people think as well as personal preference.

I would like to start by looking at body kits. I have seen the Z center and the stilllen brochures but can't make up my mind.

Who has the best looking 300ZX's on here in your opinion and where can I see a picture of them. I have looked through the rides section but would like your opinion on what you guys like.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

Hi and welcome.

The best thing is to look at what you like. There is no point asking us because for ever 1 person who likes something there are 2 who dont like it or prefer another one.

Personally I like the 99 spec bumper but because so many people are changing it, I think I will be different and stay stock ;)

YOu should try to get to a meeting or something as some cars look better in the flesh, well metal and plastic ;)

Stuart

Hi Stuart, thanks for your response.

Well I hear what you are saying, but. ok I'm going to sound really shallow when I say this, but I'm a bit of an attention seeker :). I like other people to like my car more than I do. I know it sounds really strange but that's the way I am, that's why I am more interested in what everyone else likes so I can get a rough feel about it.

I read the other thread about the aerodynamics and it seems that most people prefer the scarab to the stillen one, so my personal preference would be effected by that.

So what cars do you think are top notch on here apart from your own obviously :) ?

I like DaveW's. Nice kit which doesnt go OTT. Perfect sized spoiler for the car.

This has got to be a wind-up.

I have recently come across the title of TROLL, in reference to the internet a Troll can be described as:

On the Internet, a troll is a person who posts messages that create controversy or an angry response without adding content to the discussion, often intentionally. Though technically different from flaming, which is an unmistakable direct personal attack, trolls often resort to innuendo or misdirection in the pursuit of their objective, which is to create controversy for its own sake, discredit those with whom they disagree, or sabotage discussion by creating an intimidating atmosphere.

Originally this term applied to people who were intentionally posting flamebait, by analogy with the fishing technique of trolling: metaphorically, these people were dragging a conversational lure through the group, hoping for a response. The concept of "this person is trolling our newsgroup" became shortened to "this person is a troll", and picked up the association of the monster trolls of folklore. Note that this is a highly subjective term, as everyone is affected differently by the nature of the term deemed a "troll".

trolling mostly maintains its earlier meaning of posting messages specifically in order to elicit a particular response, usually anger or argument. The noun form, troll, is sometimes used in the more general sense of someone who stirs up controversy, whether or not the controversy itself is their goal.

Frequently this is used to discredit one position in an argument. By asserting that one's opponents are trolls, one is asserting that they are only maintaining their position in order to feed the flames, and that their position is actually indefensible. This use of "troll" is however then an ad hominem argument, and is itself thus usually indefensible – most correct views have historically met with opposition, so the label "troll" used this way is actually more likely to indicate a correct but controversial position that is stirring up flames precisely because it has challenged a doctrine others actually realize is wrong. That said, it is quite possible to stir up controversy with a wrong argument – but these can more effectively be met by simply responding to the substantive issue. It is safer to use the term "troll" to apply only to insubstantial irritation.

In summation i think we have a Troll in our midst. :D

tim

get an R32 GTR.

I started out loving bodykits, but when I actually got mine and seeing it up close, I really liked it stock and would NEVER change the bodywork with the possible exception of removing the back spoiler or replacing it with a similar small one if mine went off.

I still like subtle sideskirts and 99 spec bumpers, but only as a replacement due to accident damage. I LOVE the profile of my SWB. SWB's rule!!! :D

Im like you Rich. Every time I see a modified Z, the more I want to keep mine stock.

True the Z is a beautiful car stock but im changing mine because stock gets boring after a while and starts to look very plain when you park a stocker next to something like Chrisc's. After 4 years im sick of the plain sensible look and want something a little more 'in ya face' :D

Paul

Well I think stock is now starting to look aged! That's my opinion anyway.

Geoff.

It is starting to age, becasue its an old car. Its 14 years.

The E-type Jag looks old, the Ford GT looks old, the Lamborghini Countash and Diablo look old, but they look classic. :D

Well, as someone has already said it's all about personal preference. And this is my personal favorite.

Keep up the good work Tone'.

Does any1 know who did the leather interior for the yellow zed

As far as I'm concerned, stock rules!!!, and for everyone that says, "but it's looking old/dated etc..." *****cks!! so what, good!! most new car styling is bloody aoppaling anyway, I'd rather drive a timeless classic than a "fashionable" new/modified car that will really look dated in a coople of years.

Paul N:D  :D

Oh..... and you can keep your 350Z as well!!! looks to much like a pretender to the AudiTT (also ugly) throne instead of a proper supercar

And yea...I know I can't type either

Paul

:D

Keep it stock at the begining and when you get used to it you can start changing things. In my opionion the 2 things that you want to do is change the wheels to something bigger it's an expensive mod but will change the look a lot

It's a friend of the guy who owns it. He works for Aston Martin and the leather is Conelly(spelling!). Last time I heard, the cost is £2k for the same job to be done by him.

Probably best asking Tony who owns the motor.

You out there Tony?

hi nick - as has been said before, i depends on your taste.

That is the beauty of the zed there are so many different things you can do with them.

personally i like the '99 oem nose a duck tail arse and i just lurve the stillen side skirts ( i think nelson has them).

Get yourself to a meet and see all the differences.

Kindest Regards,

Alex

Surely the answer to the question "Who's got the nicest 300 on here" has to be "me":D 'cos "mine" is always the best.

After all, other Zs may IYHO look better, be faster, be more stock that "mine" but "mine" is parked outside "my" gaff and "I" can drive it anytime "I" like - unlike "yours"

(Besides, stock is better, silver is faster and TT 2+2 is the only proper spec for a Z :p :p Just as well I'm going out for the rest of the day innit? :D )

PS this isn't my gaff - just my Z!

Make a habit of parking your Zed outside other people's houses just to take a photo then ? ;)

I'm sure that in everyone's eyes, their own Z is the nicest - quite right too :)
