okay people, here are my thoughts on this "official club" thing....

what's wrong with this as the official club ?

As Jez posted previously, we are all here, we all visit, we can all post.

As soon as the new version of the admin tools are done, then you can do your own pages.

Tooley, if you want to be responsible for the Northern Chapter :) then i can give you admin rights to the Events section, and you can do your own write ups, meet info etc.

The tools are almost done now.

If you all want official membership numbers then let me know, i'll give you some. I have them already....

Posting articles, pages, newsletters, etc is zero cost on here, no reams of photocopy paper, printing, dtp, etc.

Warren (300z) has already mentioned (plenty of times) that he can get caps and t-shirts done, and he is in a hurry to get some done before he comes back to the UK.

He has asked for logo ideas etc from everyone, but i don't think i have seen any offerings yet.... (i see from the membership list we have some graphic designers, web designers, etc !!)

We can certainly use the club/community ? to try and leverage group deals on things.

Jez already tried this with insurance, which i backed him up with when i spoke to the insurance company. Unfortunately they cannot cover imports on the deal yet, but they assure me that this will happen in the next few months.

Nico has spoken with Johnny a number of times about group buys, the most recent being Blitz Turbo Timers, although i'm not sure what the take up was.

Nico also did a group buy on JWT ECU's which was succesful for all concerned (import problems excepted)

I tried with the Eibach springs and KYB adjustable shocks...

I will shortly be contacting Porterfield brakes, at Jez's recomendation, anyone else need some shit hot brake pads ? I will always try and negotiate a deal.

Bob is always open to suggestions for group buys, and he will always give a good deal on supply and fit of any auto electric related item.

ICE, alarms, immobilisers, and he done a damn good job on fitting DaveW's AVC-R

I'm sure Johnny can be persuaded to give us all a good deal on stuff from his catalogue.

When the tools are done Johnny, you can out your catalogue online !

Tooley must be able to get a bloody good deal on tyres..... :) judging by the video !

How much more official do you want this thing ?

I am talking with the TRAX organisers about next year.

I am talking to Jonathan Palmers company about hiring his track at Bedford Autodrome. (whether for our own cars, or for a full day event with their vehicles)

However, these are not cheap.... :)

If i can drum up interest again, then we should get another kart event organised.

There is a big outdoor track at Milton Keynes, which is a bit more central than London....

All we need are ideas, and a bit of effort guys... and we have all the club we need online.

If you know people who aren't online that should be kept uptodate, then let them know, or print some of the pages off and give them.

Unless any of you are really really interested in designing, printing, posting and administering a manual version of this club..... look how successful the other clubs are with that format.....

As Tooley said at TRAX, we have more on here than all of the other Z clubs put together...

This started as a little post, and just grew... sorry guys, but you get what i mean ?

Post your feedback, let's get this going !!

he he Copy and Paste were at the ready for that one craig old chum lol.

Yeah I mean me and Craig have recently discussed this thing and came the same conclusion.

If some other people want to do a Paper version of a club and use this site as the

online community using the site as the club name then that is fine, im sure we can do our best to accomodate that.

Other wise im not sure either as to what advantages would come to way up the amount of time needed. Apart from keeping Z owners who are not online happy. In which case im sure we can make some Printer friendly Digest version that can be mailed out at a cost.

The nice thing about this site at the momment is you get a fair amount of advantages and reletavely no disadvantages. It is very dynamic and easy to update. Hopefully by all soon. I know it has not moved forward on the content front for sometime, which is largely my fault due to work commitments and other general life shit, I assure you this will change in the coming months as we hope to take the site to the next level after the upgrade from the previous site to this one. with lots more general content and fun stuff.

Group discounts have been more than ammicable in the past especially for the allarmingly small ammount of number of people that have joined in on them.

The events have been more succesful and im sure will continue to be as the amount of readers and memmebers grow.

Anyone that is interested in taking the issue further the please dont be adverse to asking our help or opinions. But let me warn you gettin the site to the stage it is at now has been a hell of a lot of work for both me and craig, and it is still less than 50% complete also if anyone has any points they would like to suggest about the sites content or features please shoot them off to me and craig and we will respond accordingly.

Im sure is speak for both of us when i say that making the site a better community has

grown as a goal for us over the past months as it has grown larger and larger, In the early day we had very few readers just the old crew that I have spoke to many times by now, We hope we can get the same fammily feeling here that used to be on TT.net when it was good. Hey its all about the love after all :o)

well said m8ty you've covered all of wot i could have thought of and now for the crunch question where do i sign up with this kind of planning and enthusiasm we cant fail. jonny/marky sounds good to me but im easy to please hows about you 2

Lets keep this club web based!

It seems pointless posting hundreds of bits of paper up and down the country when we can do it 'live' on the web.By the time you recieve newsletters etc you would have already read it on the forum anyway.

When we can all upload our own pages it will seem more like a club as well.

This site has been the biggest source of info and help I have found since getting my car and Im sure it has for most people here

(credit to Craig and Nico).

The only official type thing I would suggest is a small pin badge and window sticker to help identify fellow Z'ers at the local Netto's car park.

Also if we had a group buy on webcams we could all sell our cars and hold all the meets online saving a fortune in fuel and insurance...

See ya

Paul.

Thumbs up to Criag and Nico. Christ, that message kept me routed to my chair all evening.

I must say with the kind of enthusiasm shown in the past, this idea is a sure fire winner.

Insurance deals, Track events, Toys etc. I will be able to help out with.

Mark. What`s your view?

Cheers

cool idea sign me up ,

i like the online idea but there must be memneres that are not online, so maby we could compile a little news letter or magazine (which i could get printed for nothing as my work has huge digital copiers and i used to maintain them so i know the guys in the printing department) and we could send out some stuff officially.

anyway just a thaught.

great job by craig and nico.

chat to you later.

Good job lads, I'm in! Window stickers a good idea. Let me know if you need anything doing.

What about 'Z' fluffy dice he he

cool but not the little z dices the ones that are the size of baseball bats and we can also get whitewall tyres as that is easier to recognize in the streets or maby we can get chrome mags lol hehehe

anders have you seen that guy about the mines ecu? in england

Enough pontificating - We all know what we want from this and we all participate to make it what it is - so lets do it!

Niks getting a logo idea together now

i need to see the logo pretty soon as i am leaving on the 10th of october for the uk and i will get shirts and caps done here in South Africa as it is dirt cheap , quite literely dirt cheap.

300Z,

I called 'um up and they sound very knowledgable. They got an excelent writeup in this months Banzai mag. Trouble is, I never had a chance to take it to them. I need to get the car back on the road first.

Have to agree with Nico and Craig. As far as I'm concerned this is a club. Not too sure if it needs to developed any further.

I like the web based style of the site.

When I'm talking crap in real time it's nice to know I can be corrected instantly!

Also agree with everyone else. Nico and Craig do a great job.

Car stickers....

How about contacting the twinturbo.net administrators who supply nice twinturbo.net window stickers and getting the same style for the UK club.

Couple of ideas for images

Constructive comments only. 'It looks shit' is ok as long as you state WHY it looks shit.

Ok guys, i've been away on honeymoon, so i'm catching up. sorry couldn't make silverstone, trust you had a blinder.

Agree that On-line club is all you need. We will need an "identity" which will mean a club name, window stickers etc. We will need to let other interested parties know we exist like maybe Banzai, nissan, other z clubs, TTnet. Perhaps register on a search engine or two. Also will insurance companies need any prove of memberships for a discount, if so what?? And, how are we going to collectively pay for club t-shirts etc or is whoever is printing them happy to pay up front and hope we all buy one?

Finally, can we have a secret handshake? Aw go on!
