i was just interested to know what sort of numbers would be up for a big cruise to be recognised in max!

i could make a few calls and see whether they would be interested?

Agreed Mike, and believe me, I have no wish to take part in any of these shenanigans. However, if Max Power want to formally arrange shooting a feature with our cars, surely, we just invite them along to one of our own meets ...

If they want to wheel along some totty to drape on the cars for the photos, then so much the better!:p

If they want pictures of people doing burnouts, then we can just let them have a copy of Pete's Avatar - lol :D

We didn't let carworx tell us what they had in mind though, before blowing him up with the heavy sarcasm artillery, did we? ;)

CheerZ,

JB.

We wouldn't do that sort of thing on this forum, surely?

Yeah - some of you have said it - mere snobbery! May be it's the first signs of the forum turning into a "club" or an elite of a bunch of prats - who lack courtesy and humility. lol.

I've been down to Southend a number of time on Saturday night cruises and there are a lot of genuine guys out to enjoy their cars and learn stuff from others.

So stop being such prats.

Geoff

too right geoff! i don't think anyone from this forum gets out much! well as you know geoff one of my best mate has got a ''shitty boy racer saxo'' that actually does 175mph on top of that he sometimes add a 75 bhp shot of nos! its blue and he will show most of you up!

so i take it showing your cars off isn't an interest and you don't really want to see jap force dominate the english car scene of max power!

i think if a massive feature on zx's took place the upset in the mag would be tremendous! so thin about it!

cheers geoff im sure there are some other decent guys on here like yourself but i havent really found many yet!

I hear some thing like that every day.

FFS Mate everyone has their opinion.

Some of us don't appreciate being called prats because we have an opinion. I certainly don't

Fair enough you have an opinion, that's fine. I don't call you a prat because of your personal taste. I think you got a little out of your league with that last comment.

OK I would ask them politely to stop leaning on my car as I have just washed it ;)

or ask them to remove any items that may scratch the paint like zips and buckles.

Bunch of slappers anyway!

Can someone ask the question again: who wants to be in a 300ZX feature in Max Power... and all those who wouldn't touch Max Power with one of SMWs neon tubes please shut the f*ck up?! :D

I'd happily volunteer to be featured... 3 half-dressed girls standing in my empty engine bay would make a fantastic photo! NOT LONG NOW THO!!! ;)

Get your butt in fight club Monkey nutts !!!. And I'll stick a neon up your butt  (not in a gay way either ;) )

Just me, but dont know that its fair to call a girl a slapper just because she is a model in a car mag. Also your life must be full of top class totty if you are that disrespectful to what, in my eyes, seem to be some rather tasty looking young ladies. They can sit on my car any day they like 1) i dont often wash it and 2) i realise its just a car

and skirts - they can be quite abrasive too you know!!!:D

Stuart - the reason I'm having a go is the reception a mate of mine has been given on the forum by very small minded opinions on here. I'm open to discussion and diversity of opinion but you read the early threads on this topic and you'll see that they are absolutely rude to my friend who was offering to get us a feature in MAXPOWER - is that so bad? Was there really a need for people to be so impolite???

That's my opinion - so take it off to Fight Club for some neons.

Geoff.

Hmmm...this has been an interesting thread! Ok, serious(ish) hat on, here’s my 2p’s worth.

“There’s no such thing as bad publicity except your own obituary” – Brendan Behan.

I’m not offering that quote as a truism or to be flippant, but I do think, on the whole, it’s right.

Although as a rule I normally go for “Banzai” or “Performance”, I myself admit to buying Max Power on rare occasions (why do I feel like a member of a support group when I type that?), and although I’m never overly impressed outside of the particular review I bought it for, there is a whole section of people out there, both nationally and internationally, that are.

Trying to look at the situation from a positive viewpoint I see it as a great opportunity to raise the profile of the club. The fringe benefits being people involved get their 5 minutes of “fame” and with that an article involving them and their car to keep; we may encourage people out of what you could call their motoring “youth”, letting them see an alternative that they perhaps were previously unaware of, and we also get to showcase a car that we all love (the abiding reason we’re all here in the first place), a car that will stand out a mile amidst the usual suspects (tongue firmly in cheek!;))

I’m as concerned about the culture of “dumbing down” as anyone else, but I think anything that smacks too much of “elitism” or a “them and us” attitude needs to be addressed…and I say that in a non-accusatory way before anyone takes it personally! (If ya do…see you in Fight Club! :D )

Speaking for myself, I’d love to be involved, but like everyone else, it’s only my opinion.

Leigh.

to be perfectly honest, if you lot were actually proud of your cars then a feature would be great for you! japan's performance machines will one day take over everything else! who wants to see this happen? you all sound like you really arn't proud so whats the point! but who wants to see their own car in a top mag? everyone i know! so whats wrong with you lot! geoff is a great guy who knows what hes going on about so if knowbody is interested then thats fine! all i can say is think about all the modifying population reading about your car! You will see a top zx in several mags next year as i am currently organising photo shoots for geoffs zx (tanzx) so a lot of people will see a proud zx owner in a top mag early next year!

Fast Car gone same way, maybe not as bad but catching up,sad

It's ecery bit as tacky - this month's issue inparticular.

Max and FC are only now interesting for the new products sections - the cars are the same month in month out and many cars feature in all the mags.

And that comes from someone who also owns a modded Saxo VTS ;)

Believe me when i say that was the first car show ive ever been to.Weston Wheels this year, and the club that i was with are all jap car fans, r33/r34/gtir/scooby's etc - everyone else there were in the normal max'd motors you expect from a gathering like that. I must say it was a really wicked day, and apart from one wheel spinning toss@r in a saphire cossie everybody were a lot sounder than i thougt they were going to be!

I think what im trying to say is - if youve got a passon for cars then we all have something in common

Its just that, if you own a 300zx, then you are not one of the masses but simply a god among children lol :D

I would love to go to an all 300zx meet soon !! I think that would make my life complete

but then again im sad haha ;)

Thanks for the quote of the day m8.

Jap' Performance cars are excellent at what they do and at the price they do it for. But as for beating the world, I doubt it very much. The Italians may have something to say about that, the best handeling and most responsive car I've personally every driven was built in Hethel, and the quickest came from Blackpool.

Just my opinion so don't get on your soap box. :D

Geoff,

The simple fact is that some of these guys just don’t like Max power, That's not because they are small minded, it's because they prefer to read other mags.

To be honest when I buy a car mag I want a car mag not a porno, and that's the reason I don’t buy max power.

It was a simple question that was asked, "do you want to be in max power" quite a few simple answers were given, No's, yes's and also some elaboration on why they said no or yes.

My point is just because people don't share the same views with you, which you seem to find hard to accept, it doesn't give you the right to call them prats. I for one was actually surprised with that comment and certainly didn’t expect it from you. :(

With regards to a max power feature with our cars in it, sure why not minded>

I buy max every couple of months or so (dont slate me:rolleyes: ) And in my opinion it would be a refreshing change to see a bunch of Jap performance cars inside rather than an ICE`d up metro or something stuped that has more show than go.

Just an opinion.
