Were you idling or booting it when it snapped mate ?

You may well find that if it was under about 2k revs (ie before the variable valve timing kicks in) you haven't done any damage. Fingers crossed !

my boyfriend checked it to make sure, i wasnt booting it any more than normal! Having it checked out tonight. Cheers for reply

not really i was going round a roundabout, did put my foot down a bit though

First job is to replace the belt and do a compression test - make sure the engine turns over by hand though once the belt is on BEFORE trying to start it ;) Even though the VG30DETT is of an interference type design, it is quite rare to do any damage when the cambelt snaps.... fingers crossed for you ;)

thanks for your help. ill let you know the damage!
