Here's you chance to call me a Stupid **** outside of fight club :D.

For the last two days I've been a little pissed off because my car has decided to start running on 5 cylinders again.

It felt exactly the same as when I drop my car after the heads were replaced and there was a problem with Piston Number 4.

I was starting to think that it may be my traction control so I rewired it all without any change.

I then started to think that the piston problem may have returned or even an injector so I called Peter at SE a couple of times but he was so busy getting everything ready for the Open day and RR that he really didn’t have time to speak, so after a fair few conversations with Claire I gave up.

However I got home last night and thought right I'm going to do a compression test to find out if it's still the problem. But at first I thought I'd go round while the engine was running and disconnect each coil pack one at a time. No 1 cylinder has no response  so out came the coil pack to find I had no spark, tired a new coil pack (form Cerina's car) then a new plug but still nothing, I then started to think the blame lies with SE as they wired in my coil pack and injector connectors. So I rewired the coil pack connector but still nothing.

Then I decided to trace it all the way back to the ECU. I got as far as the PTU when I found it wasn't connected correctly and the connector was slightly a-jar, connected it back up and I'm back on all 6 :D.

I realised that when I fitted the new SS Hard pipes I must have knocked the PTU.

So after 7 hours of passing the blame and basically getting really depressed. It turns out that it was my fault all along :(.

So come on give me some abuse, I deserve it

Check the connectors first - it's much cheaper to reconnect something than to by a new one!
