Faisal, do you mean all the water hoses under the plenum ? or the hoses going to turbo only, if the former then you don't need engine out, just someone to lift plenum on and off for yer and replace all water hoses, if its the tubo pipes at back off engine then yes better it comes out and cost is around £700 upwards to remove and replace, but why do you think these need doing ? got problems ? you really only wanna pull the engine if you have too and should consider what else you can whilst out, if you did.

For once and once only I agree with Smithy:D;)

I have to replace all the turbo by pass hoses theres a 17 piece kit which i purchased from courtesy.

Iv been able to replace two of them so far, the 1s that ended up bursting on me and it seems to me that theyre all on there way as there bursting one by 1.

Previous to that the heater matrix hoses burst and i replaced them the hoses are all on the way as they are old now.

Iv been a charged a total of £220 to replace these four hoses and iv broken down 3 times and had to call the AA down for a recovery.

Im getting worried im spending all this money and im gonna end up cooking the engine one day when the engine gives way coz of another hose.

Dont know what to do ???

Help please

P.S. where supposed to change the turbo by pass hoses after 10 years as courtesy say my car is a 1990 so way past the 10 years but its only done 60,000 miles

It'll be age that gets to the hoses, not really mileage. A 60k miler's hoses would be fine if the car was say 1 year old. :)

I know that i just mentioned that to say i dont think much else would need changing.

But who do i go to or what shall i do ???

Help need to book car in for sometime december.

Its a Piece of piss to do :D Ok if you've not really done it before it isn't *that* easy but it is possible with patience and the correct tools. To do the job:-

1) Remove turbo hard pipes

2) Remove balance bar (and idle pipe on pass side)

3) Remove wiring loom from all components on plenum and remove coilpacks.

4) Disconnect PCV hoses from valves

5) Undo 8 bolts on top of plenum securing it to the lower intake (unbolt centre pair first then work to each end, backing each bolt off a little, them moving on to the next until all are loose).

6) Undo 2 bolts either side holding the EGR pipes to the underside of the plenum

7) Cut each water line (you are replacing them anyway) that is holding the plenum down. I think there are 6 water hoses from the engine to the plenum.

8) Replace hoses

9) Do as Haynes say - refitting is reversal of removal.... yeah course it is :D

You can do this job with a 10mm and a 12mm spanner and some cutters. Don't forget to clean the mating surface between the upper and lower intake before using a NEW gasket when reinstalling. When reinstalling the plenum, retighten in the same fashion as undoing, starting at the centre, and working outwards towards each end - first off using half the torque, then using full torque once all are half tight.

Hope this is of some use

CheerZ,

Andy
