Diag req of pipe to heater matrix

hi

Please help me locate the (radiator) pipe that goes to the heater matrix. I've got a special t piece from PTS which goes into that pipe for the water temp guage.

Thanks,

Geoff.

Mmm,,, maybe you have used the wrong term there as the heater matrix pipes are at the back of the engine and if the heater valve is closed then little or no flow through it would give an incorrect ENGINE WATER TEMP reading from any sensors fitted there. The top hose off the radiator is the favourite place, there a few ways do do this dependant on the type of sensor.

Hope that helps.

well Jeff thanks for that, but PTS of Luton who supplied me with the t piece said that the pipes to the matrix was the best way. so I'm confused.

Thanks anyway,

Geoff.

Deffo don't put that t-piece in the matrix supply. Gotta be in the top rad pipe to be effective - what diameter is the t-piece?

The T piece - Andy, is 1.7cm.

PTS is a performance car place that does tuning, etc. they do do work on ZX's. I haven't used them for any work, but I bought my guages from them. They're based in Luton.

Geoff.

Yeah thats about the size of the matrix hoses  The guage just won't read properly if the sender is installed there.

Well Andy - I'm totally baffled - they told me from PTS that that is the best place for it!

So I'm confused!!!

Geoff.

I really don't know what your all talking about - I've spoken to the guy whose fitting the guages and he said there's no problem fitting it ti those pipes.

Geoff.

what they are saying is that you can put the sender there no problem, but that pipe doesn't have a constant flow of coolant through it so you won't always be reading the correct temp.
