Hey guys,

I've just got my hands on a pair of Euro spec rear alloys (i.e., size 245) for my Jap spec TT and am looking to buy Bridgestone Potenza SO2's for them (after reading all your praise on them). However, so far I've had no luck in locating a shop that sells/installs them in the Birmingham area. Do any of you have an address/contact for a shop that stocks these - and approx cost? I don't mind if it is in the NW London area as I work in Rickmansworth and can get it fitted during the day.

Much appreciate your feedback - Ta!

Danny

I pretty sure they have been replaced by S03's. I have been quaoted around £290 for a pair fitted (West Sussex area)

S-02's are getting rare now, S-03's are the replacement. I have them on mine and am happy with them. I paid about £245 for a pair of rears. Try Mike at MJP (near Brentwood) or Micheldever (near Basingstoke).

Avoid Kwik-Fit etc - they will charge about £190 each !

micheldever is where i got mine and they are pretty good, i liked the service (lol now theres a first)

Warren - why aren't you in hiding still? wink.gif

Is the right size for Jap spec rears 225 or 235 BTW?

Thanks - but didn't I read somewhere on this forum that the SO3's are "noisier" than the SO2's?????

D

that is the trick i am still undercover (although i broke cover at craigs place) on saturday.

but the question you have to ask is "is it really me lol"

i have so2 and think they are awsome, not sure about s03 road noise, but s02 are really good, i have been in a michilen shod one and there is a huge difference

Thanks Danny - I thought that was the case.. The car I'm getting has 235/50's on the rear (jap spec wheels, I *think*, although I didn't look too closely) which I thought was odd..

Ahh well, they're continental's anyway and I'm not a fan of those...

Hey Danny, Just for information where did you get your two rear wheels from?

Cheers

Martin

I think MJP, or one of their affilliates, have some rears for sale. They had them at Billing, but looked like they needed a bit of cleaning up (for me anyway). Think they were about £70 each.

I haven't noticed my S-03's being any noiser than the S-02's.

Martin,

Got my wheels on a brief stop-over in Holland two weeks ago. Eric (Lymon) got me intouch with a guy who just put the most gorgeous 18-inchers on his TT. Just got lucky I guess, as these wheels are about as scarce as rockinghorse shit over here ...

Anyway, thanks all for the feedback - I shall be in search for some SO2's or 3's.

Cheerios!

I have always run Yokohama AVS Sport all round on mine, 265 35 18 on the rear and 235 40 18 on the front. They cost £300 a piece but I've always been happy with them.

However, the latest batch I've bought squeal at the front. The rears squealed at first but now are nice and quiet. There's nothing that annoys me more than squealing tyres coz it makes you look like a boy racer when you're trying to have a bit of fun hoping that nobody will notice!

I've covered 1000 miles now and they still squeal. I'm wondering whether Yokohama have changed something and, if so, I'm not wasting another £1200 replacing this set with more Yokos. Do the above mentioned Bridgestones squeal? I'm not that bothered about other road noises it's just the squealing that gets on my tits.

I don't mind paying for the tyres as long as they are progressive and don't make me sound like Starsky and Hutch. Any suggestions?

Mike

Bridgestones rule bigtime, i will never change tyre so long as they make these

Got to agree with you there Warren. Good grip, great feel, sound wet of dry and they don't wear too badly. Also, if you shop around and put the thumbscrews on a few people they're only a bit more expensive than the cheap'n'nasty jobbies.
