To use the drivability upgrade with the JWT twin POP kit, theres a pipe you need to attatch to the offside recirc........the problem being I've got dump valves - so where the f**k does the pipe go now?

Thats still for fitting it to recircs you whopper!!!:slap: :p

Phone JWT, they are very helpful !

Adam, as you have a mystery chip, i assume this is going to be checked and possibly reprogrammed for the twin pop set up ? if so i see no reason why you need to fit it, bear in mind JWT expect those who buy this kit to use their chip, see about re-doing your chip to suit the mod, after all this pipe is supposed to aid low power driveability somehow, but that beats me.

The reason for the mod is simple, the idle valve takes its air from ONE side only. Therefor, if you mount the mas on the pass side, it will measure ALL the idle air but will end up reading twice what it should, if its on the drivers side, it won't measure ANY idle air. The mod basically joins the two sides together so the MAS measures the correct proportion of the air at low revs (when the idle valve is active). Adam, you need to join that pipe to the drivers side, high pressure side of the turbo. Best way I see of doing this (involves some fabrication) would be to fit another 'take-off' for the idle valve on the drivers side pressure pipe. Have a look on the passenger side where the idle air is taken from, copy this for the drivers side, then tee the two together before going to the idle valve...

Hey, *I* know what I mean :D

Trying to find some pics ;)

In simple terms, without that drivability upgrade pipe, the car keeps revving when it idles, which among other things can be annoying. With the mod it's back to how it should be.

I would reccomend you use some kind of thread sealent (.ie white plumbers tape) on the thread when you tap that re-circ. (It's a very thin wall you're tapping). Also check JWT sent you the metal threaded connector, the plastic ones aren't so good so I hear (they are more prone to leak air).

If I did it all again I would attempt to lower the honk noise by cutting the end off the new pipe that sticks out into the re-cirs by 45 degrees. Although I can't guarentee a result one this one!

Like Andy says, you'll need something to double up the MAS reading for the air/fuel table in the chip. Either buy getting the JWT upgraded chip, another chip!, or the Apexi-AFC (which can also handle two MAS sensors or double the MAS).

Jez.

refit your recircs and donate your dump valves to me... i'll swap u them for a turbo timer.

oh and hows the old water injection going?

All the mechanical bits are in......its getting wired up on Wednesday.

Adam, I dug this up in a search. Did you get the dual intake set up installed? If so, did it make any difference and does it require a new chip or a re-map?

Thanks

Leonard

Yes it requires a new chip

Right, because I have now inherited this dual POP :D ;) where is the best place to get the hoses tapped into the recirc valve. I.e. what type of place can do that type of stuff?

Why not read the link at the top of the page? ;) Buy a tap kit and do it urself? ;)
