Hi,

 

Well it is time to get the ideas rolling about what we want/need for Billing next year!

 

I take it that everyone is in favour of a Marque!

 

I presume we are going to hire one to start with unless some kind soul has a good one to lend us? We will obviously need desks/chairs along with it.

 

I think Joining forms for new members, somebody there to guide them through the recruitment process?

 

When we get a comprehensive buying guide produced we could print copies, and give it to endless number of people who come up saying I have always want to buy one of these!

 

Maybe a photo log of members who are present, their Forum Names and their real names, a message book for people planning to meet each other.

 

A banner to put on the marque so people know who we are?

 

Maybe some small trophies and awards to best zed/ most helpful trader/most helpful member/ most modded zed/best convertible zed:D

A BBQ and cheap drinks (like what JeffTT did this year) Basically not to make dosh but so our members arn't ripped off by the food stands, members pay cost, non-members can pay a bit more.

 

Marquee is a good idea, I'll have a word and see if i can find a suitable one for free.

Err, just me and my car there next year!

 

Oh, and the other stuff sounds good too :D

Marquee, beer & BBQ are a must - cars are optional :dance:

I have access to an A0 Colour printer if it would come in handy for Banners etc. (Only prints on paper though!!)

Yep, couldn't agree more - some excellent ideas here ... definitely a tent, and a bbq is a great idea, since the stalls really did take the p*ss price and wait wise! :D

 

Am happy to volunteer for chef-ing duties .. :) Perhaps we could have bbq'd banana on the menu ;)

 

BTW, Mark do you know when a date is set for Billing?

 

Deffo an award for best turned out Z - and perhaps a bit of an AGM type gathering on the Sunday - although not *too* early!! :D

All good ideas,plus we should have our own Trophy awards,like say 3 moderators or the like,to asse's/mark those present over the two days,then combine the scores outa 10,find winners for catagories like,

1.Best overall

2.Best Modded

3.Best Stock

4.Best Series 1

5.Best series 2

6.The furthest travelled.

7.Members best Z

Maybe include an AGM like the ZCLUB do

Organize a Raffle to help with funds etc,get the traders on here to put up some tasty prize's,(crate of beer prize mandatory in anycase:D )Big sound system(gets the party going as it was a tad quiet this year,my mrs thought it a bit staide!!)Large BBQ,those turning up and wanting some to chip in and bring some food.Maybe some lights around the Marquee/tent like colourd neons/lasers shooting into the night sky with the words "300ZX.CO.UK":D a bit OTT maybe;)

Who saw 'Hungry Hundy' at billing this year? :D Rear end of an S14 forming a trailer, with the boot turned into a bbq and the rear seats left in for 'customers'. Only the SXOC could think of something like that but surely we could do our own version :D

Good idea, after seeing that (and top gear) i decided after we came back from the billing arms or whatever it is, to reheat a macdonalds beefburger on my plenum at about 2 in the morning!!!

 

I'll never know if was that or the beer that made me ill!!!

Also, if we're going with the beer tent idea, we'll have to get some sort of membership cards sorted, otherwise we'll have every tom , dick and scooby driving harry popping in for a brew!!!

UUUUUmm yes the beer tent might be a problem, the problem will be getting it passt me, Because I have decided that is the only thing I am in control offff,, Bwwhhaahhaahhaa BBwwhhahhahhaa!!!

Another thought, this will probably have to be funded beforehand as you cant just turn up and say sell beer at knock down prices to the members as it would probably come into some sort of licensing law or something, maybe we need to get everyone to either chip in beforehand, or use club funds so in effect the beer is given away and not sold:confused:

Don't know the exact Law but I am sure there are ways to bring and store your own beer;)

one way you might get around law is that you sell a rafflle ticket for the same cost of a drink and that way you are giving out a prize to the ticket buyer and not selling them a drink

I think if we do this it we would have to limit it to members only, and even then I am not sure we won't need a bigger Marque!

Let alone what size of bloody fridge we'll need!!!!!!!

Dunno about over there in UK, but certainly here in i.o.m you need a licence to sell raffle tickets where by something is either won or given in exchange :( that's do gooders for yer.

Good idea as well about getting the Traders to proffer a prize for the various awards... What do the Traders think of this?
