i haven't been in a NA 300, but plenty of other NA 3.0 cars, and they are slow enough to regret buying one if you happen to get a ride in a twin turbo one :)

and if you ever plan to modify it, don't even bother thinking non turbo :)

What A bummer the car i was looking at was well nice only 33k on the clock for £6,500

on a k 93.

i've heard that turbos can be a problem and

its not that uncommon to be forever sticking

new ones in...would you say the zx suffers

from similar probs with its turbos??

all turbo cars suffer some problem or another, if the turbos are not looked after properly.

Mine are still original at 120,000 miles, and work fine. I have a slight oil seal leak when idling, but what can you expect for those miles ? It is nothing to worry about.

It is just sensible to follow the handbook advice, and let your car idle for a few minutes after a hard run, which lets the oil circulate round the turbos and cool them down a bit.

Turbo timers do this job for you.

I suspect you have been given turbo advice from a cossie or r5 owner/mechanic...

300 turbos are fine !

well it depends on how you look after your car, drive a twin turbo nicley and it will last forever drive like most people do and it will still last foreverdrive like tooley and you might have problems lol he he (only joking tooly)

but it should be very reliable if you look after the turbos

I test drove an NA before buying my TT. Very slow compared to a TT IMHO. Just not the same feeling as when those TT's kick in. I know I would of regretted it if I got an NA instead of the TT. Upgrading for extra power is far easier too with a TT. The turbo's don't fail over and over again. If you do have to get them rebuilt then they will last the remaining lifetime of the car providing you warm them up, cool them down etc.

Find a test drive on both and compare them.

You will fall for the TT. Trust me!

having owned several cossies a turbo'd 205 dimma and my new passion i can say without doubt a turbo'd car will take vast amounts of thrashing and never fail you if like our man above sez let them run for a bit before turning them off after giving them and tonking and the other thing is that you will only get back wot you put in with servicing keep them regular and use good quality stuff and you should be laughing. a three lite car is built at the end of the day to cruise at 100 miles an hour and no matter wot you call thrashing it ure never gonna cane it for more than twenty minutes tops. ive never managed to blow any turbo up yet piston meltdown maybe but never a turbo

I owned both a '92NA and a '91TT at the same time.

My advise is: go for the turbo, you won't be sorry.

Although the 90+ NA (non turbo) is fast enough to compete with most fast cars on the road, it feels really slow after you have driven a TT.

Apart from the turbo's, you also have a few extra *goodies* on the TT that aren't on the NA (HICAS, adjustable shocks)

Turbo's on the TT aren't really a problem, but the timingbelt is..so make sure it has been replaced every 60k miles/4 years

Replace/check it on time ! (it costed me the engine of my TT)

Zya,

Eric

UK and Jap spec TTs don't have adjustable shocks. I think it's a US only feature.
