Where is the air lock???

If it's in the Rad, your Z will over heat and that's not a good thing (you'll be driving along and the temp needle will rise to the tippy top of the 'temp gauge')

Then you have to add more coolant and get all that air out.....running the Z after you have filled it up as much as you can then keep adding until it's full, then add more as the Z seems to swallow it loads, squeeze the pipes, add more coolant, squeeze them again, add more coolant!! When I had my rad replaeced we had to add loads more after we thought it was full............been running great since the rad change.......

Matty.

Just read that and man do I waffle after 4 glasses of wine!

You can also start it COLD with the bleed screw off for a very SHORT WHILE which will circulate the water around - if you've got air you'll see it bubbling out of the bleed outlet. You'll still need to keep topping it up as described in the other post as well, but this can be a shortcut if you've got a lot of air in there.

I cannot emphasise those capitals enough though - engine must be properly COLD and don't do it for too long at all.
