One of the best mods I have done. Very well worth it.

Here is a quick Vid using DIVX of a quick launch with Traction Control if any one wants to see.

If you only get sounds, then download the DIVX driver from http://www.divx.com

Is yours the launch controll model? Is that feature worth the extra?

Cheerz

yeah. It is extra. It gives an extra rev limiter to use to get the turbos spooling and it has adjusting slip control for when you launch. Ie, its not on 10% all the time, it changes as you launch giving you better performance.

Stuart

Can you adjust the launch control rev limiter from in the car? And can you do it quickly and easily? In other words, can you lower it to a value much less than the optimum if you want to make a quick get away from the lights without sounding like a tw@t?!

Yep, you can do it with the TC software which you get with the unit or the one now on the net.

Or with out it, with the dial set to dry press the launch button twice holding it down the 2nd time. The rise the revs to the level you want and release the button. The rev is now set. The smae applies to when you have it set to wet.

You can really play with the brain on the RL unit to adjust it to your specification - thats the great thing about it.It totally transformed my car - its one of those mods which you only really appreciate once you have driven with it.

It shouldn't be treated just as a safety device, its so much more than that - it seems to help put the power down, makes an ok driver look great and a great driver drive like a pro - when I corner now on dry setting its like you can point the car and down the throttle and it does the rest - I could even give it to my mum to drive now ! lol.Only if you have RLTC will you know how it really transfers the characteristics of the car -i fyou dont have it try it,you will want one.

If any one in the North West wants to see what it is like. Ask me and I will take you out for a drive, go round roundabouts with the accelerator planted to the floor. Strange feeling at first but a great buzz.

I believe my TC saved my life or if not definatley stopped a serious accident. I was driving down a country lane about 9 at night in winter, only going 40-50 on a national limit road. I was going round a bend when I saw that a drain had burst and the water had frozen solid. With the Z lights and the fact it was black ice I didnt get much time before I hit it and so I decided not to as there was no time. The wheels hit the ice and the traction control went mad, I mean really mad for about half a second and then I carried on as if nothing happened. The rear twitched slightly, but my passenger didnt know that anything was wrong. Without the Traction Control my rear wheels would have just spun out of control and espeically cos I was on a bend, the rear end would have kicked out at over 40mph and hit a wall or on coming car.

Mine comes on nearly every day now. Especially when its raining. Pulling quickly out of busy tight junctions was a pain as the wheels would spin very easily because of the wet and I was turning a sharp corner. Now Im not bothered as I know when the traction control come on, the rear is not going to kick out and that I am pulling off as fast as I can.

The offer is open for people wanting a demo. :D

Yep been there before, was pulling onto the m25 and there seemed to be diesel or some kind of slippery substance on the road - as as I was accelerating comin on 2nd turbo it twitched the back end but nothing major happened at all and all was back in control without really my passenger knowing anything had happend.

As has been said, this is one of the best driving/performance mods you can buy!

It's probably the thing that has had the biggest effect on my speed out of anything I've done to the car.

In summer it just means you can floor it round bends where you would be backing off in case it slid, in the wet of winter you can still drive fast where before I'd take another car.

I used to dread the rain coming but with variable TC I look forward to it now!

Set to 15 or 20% slip and fly out of a junction getting sideways as far as you dare keep your floot on the accelerator with no need to worry about it all going too far.

Only thing is when you start doing it all the time like I do, sooner or later the cops will spot you at it! LOL

I havent tried my launch control yet as it doesn't work very well on an auto but once my manual box is in I'll let you know!

Buy it or regret it!

general opinion on fitting is if you can fit a car stereo you can fit RLTC - or its £120ish to fit.You can view the instruction manual here 3/4 of the way down the 2nd page

You do have to be a bit handy with a soldering iron. i also wouldn't attempt it if you're colour blind :D
