My passenger side main beam bulb has stopped working. First of all it kept going out when I drove over bumps and a swift bang on the headlight sorted it out but now it does not work at all.

I have read a few articles online and it seems I have to take the whole bumper off to get to the headlight fixtures!. Does anyone know if there is a easier way of getting to the bulbs?.

You've probably just got a loose earth on the bulb itself.

You don't need to take the front bumper off.

Is your cap a Jap import or a UK ?

If it's a Jap import it may be worth converting your bulb housing to take UK bulbs.

I think I've put a tech article on my site on how to do this. If not I'll write on up and it will be on there soon.

Open the bonnet, and pull out the bulb form the faulty light, check the wiring.

Sounds like you got lots of little probs with the car mate, but hopefully that is all they are.

Well that will save me some hours, thanks.

BTW it is a Jap import.

You may just have a broken filament in the bulb, if so it will die properly in time ...

where can I get more powerfull bulbs from?. I find the standard ones do not give off enough light.

Kia, try here ... PIAA Bulbs you need super ice white H3C ... these babies have 85w brightness with only 55w draw, and really transform the headlights into, well, headlights .. rather than the birthday cake candles that come as standard ;)

I also have a J-Spec car, and tbh, when I got it, despite the baco-foil conversion the lights were dire. :(

CheerZ,

JB.

On order, Thanks John.

Maybe I will use the old bulbs to stick on my next Birthday Cake. :D
