Can someone help. I have a 1989 Z32 Jap import and would like to fit a new stereo. I cannot go into Halfords and buy an adapter because it does not have any plugs just wires.

Can amyone tell me what colours do what?

I've managed to connect the earth and that's all (that was obvious). The wire colours on the head unit are completely different to the cars so I canno match them up and don;t want to blow anything!!!

Any advise would be greatly received.

There should be instructions in the manual for the radio telling you what colour wire does what.

Stereo is working fine. Electric arial isn;t but not to bothered about that as I do not use the radio. However, I have no rear lights and when I switch on my main beam the blue light comes on the dash and I get full beam!!! I also do not get any side lights. How could I have done this fitting the radio. Are any of the wires related? I plugged in the earth cable which is screwed into the metal body of the car and does not go through the loom.

I need your help!!

Dom

one of the wires that goes to the radio will be on the light circuit. you need a metre to chech which one it is as you may have shorted it out.

It is the same fuse that blew but it was actually my rear fog light switch that was causing it. I'd actually wired the stereo up okay!!
