Unmarked Mondeo has been around for a while round our partZ! TWAT!

 

Anyway, me and the Mrs. were driving along this after...and I said to her..."what if that guy in the BURGUNDY MONDEO just sat there all day and was a bad COP and just starting writing peoples Regs' down???"

 

Sorry, scenario is this...guy in unmarked Burgundy Mondeo has been around for months round our way with Laser gun! But what if he clocked you or didn't clock you! What if he just saw you coming and thought "yeah, I'll have them!"

 

Take it to court, you've not got any solid evidence that you were NOT breaking the speed limit! He certainly has NOT got any proof that you WERE breaking the speed limit!

 

Get the jist of where this is going?

 

Must be completely fallable!

 

Picture this...some guy is parked up in an un-marked car...Mondeo, whatever, he could just literally write down registration numbers all day and get away with it!!! Only when you got the "Invitation to conceed to Fixed Penalty Notice!" would you try and remember "was I speeding or not?"

 

LARGE LOOP-HOLE or what???

 

You could be framed!

 

You may not have been speeding, but the twat with a laser gun sees otherwise...

 

Bearing in mind that Laser guns only record target vehicle speed, then when targetting another vehicle the previous speed is erased! So when it comes to court, how can you prove that you weren't speeding, how can he prove you were???

But if you're zapped here in Holland by a Star Trek wanabee copper with his laser-sable.

They have to notify another twat that's further down the road and that one will have to stop you.(and give you the fine)

 

otherwise it's not legally valid

(already have been court cases here, similar to your scenario...and the pigs lost)

 

On a sidenote..

Yesterday I spoke to Danny (he's also on this forum and on holiday in Holland) and he told me about these roads in the UK where they measure your average speed.

We've had those things here in Holland a few years ago, but they stopped the "project" because it wasn't bringing in enough money anymore to support the system.!! LOL !

This because after a while people knew about this system and just followed the speed limit.

Now they have removed the system and everyone uses that road as a racetrack again.

I was 'caught' by laser doing 97 on the M20, I know I was doing it because I saw the C**t just too late, lucky he caught me when he did as I was still accelerating and it would have been well over the ton.

 

I just sent off my license and swallowed the fine.

 

My dad on the other hand can be a difficult bugger, he will buck the system at every oppotunity, he demanded to see the proof and was supplied with a nice shot of the front of his 540i BM with the reticule of the 'device' over the kidneys at the front. OK so he paid up but if we all just asked for the evidence the system would collapse!

 

Worth thinking about.

 

Another scenario was when he was tanking it down the M20 in his 'Sillicar GT4', at approx 140 and noticed a very fast blip join behind him 'f**c' get off the motorway, slow down, fane innocence, no good the bast**ds took it to court, evidence - the fact that he couldn't have got from point A to point B without breaking the speed limit, there was a 'deal' done, an admission of 101mph and no loss of licence.

 

He took another to court it was speeding offence and the letter was marked 'date as postmark' the buggers had set their franking machine wrong and it was sent out before the offence took place! Result - he walked out of court without anything.

 

I think the answer is get your value for money and slow the system down as much as possible. It is after all only indirect taxation and revenue collecting.
