Hello there folks,

Whats the best polish to use on my Zed and is T-cut a good idea first?

Cheers.

Martin.

Dont T-Cut too often. You will strip all the paint off.

I use Auto Glym all the time and only polish it about once a year with normal polish and maybe once every 2 years I will T-Cut it.

When I polish it I used the polish and then the gloss protection. Now when I just wash it, it looks like its just been polished, but you do have to wash it every week.

Martin,I have used Autoglym for years however it does not compare to the polish that PPS uses on his cars, see Traders section.

He sells it for £6 per bottle and can post it out too;)

I swear by autoglym, after shampooing with autoglym:

use the paint renovator first (less abraisive t-cut and only have to use once in a blue moon) you have to work it hard on certain sections but its defo worth it. Then polish with autoglym polish and then gloss over.

I polish about once a month but wash every two weeks. after a few months you build up a nice protection on your paintwork and it becomes easier each time :).

If you wanna send me a bottle id be more than happy to review it for future use ;) :D

I think the general rule is that they are most are very good, but you have to keep your car clean. Washing it and then polishing it every now and then is not enough. You have to keep it clean.

I use a polish called Mer that I find leaves the car with a deep shine and a supersmooth finish. The best thing's about it though are:

1. you don't have to dry the car before you apply it after washing the car.

2. You car apply it in direct sunlight and it doesn't bake itself on.

3. it is easy to remove even if you leave it on for hours.

4. Works well on glass.

Try it and you will see what I mean. Here is a link so you can see what I mean. (It is available from Halfords)

I used some ZYMOL for the first time last week and was well impressed with the results. Also left her with a lovely smell of Coconut too.

Mer is OK if your car is not black - it leaves a nasty haze on black paintwork which won't go away.

Autoglym is the best I have tried, although I used Turtle Wax colour magic (red) on my Zed today and really shines now as it removed swirls etc from paint.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I use Nielsons Polish and the results have been more than satisfactory - would seriously recommend it

Nielsons for me, top banana:D

My personal choice is meguires i use two products the crystal 3 step system is verry good use once in a while 3 steps hard work but gives a wicked finish then use there gold class for generall polishing its damn good stuff and even smells nice lol

I also use Turtle Wax Colour Magic but it doesnt remove swirls, it only covers them up, they will come back when the wax wears off. The trick is not to let it.

I tried Mer, but I went back to Autoglym. I waxed it early this morning, then put on Autoglym's Gloss Protection, absolutely fantastic, never seen such a deep gloss.

I use this new product from Wonder Wheels. It's a two coat job - alot of work but only needs it every few months. Seems to work well.

When I give the car the full treatment it at least 3 hours work.

Geoff.
