i don't actually need a plug, i just need to know the thread size. But if know one knows then i'll just get a plug and measure it. Just being lazy really;) !

Sounds like a FACINATING hobby you have there. Is there a special forum for others with this interest?:D :D ;)

Thought id bring this thread to life as im looking for the sump plug thread size also......

I want to relocate my oil temp sender as the sandwich plate is in a crap location and it doesnt give me a true reading as all the oil is rushing past the sender when the engine is ruinning.... So im going to buy an adapter.

So anyone know the size?

Yer, this could be good for me also as i have a gauge in the car(that i put in 3 yrs ago!!) and am looking for a sender plug because i have heard nothing but bad things ref the plates.

To be honest the sandwich plate i have fitted from ebay has not given me any problems, If fitted correctly that is. Just made sure i put teflon tape around each blacking plug and sender, But With the sandwich plate you just dont get a good reading especially for oil temp.

Ok i spoke to MJP and he gave me the sump plug thread size which is 12mm/1.25 metric.

Now ive just come off the phone to demon tweeks who have not only sold me a sump plug oil temp adapter but also a T-piece adapter to go in place of the stock oil sender postion, so i can fit my aftermarket one and original. This is the best position for oil pressure.

This all cost me £25 with special delivery gaurentee next morning. Cheaper/accurate and no need to worry about oil leaks.

JOB DONE. And now i have a sandwich plate for sale if anyone wants it :D

no item numbers sorry.

What you need is a oil pressure adapter T-piece with two holes for the oem sender and A/M senderm demon will know the size you need. You also need a sump plug oil temp adapter, and the thread size u need is 12mm/1.25 metric. with a 1/2 npt hole for oil temp sender. Didnt i just write that above?

i have one, its a triple adapter :)

t1.jpg

has 3 take offs, 1 at the top (where gold bolt is)

1 at the bottom (where braided hose is)

and 1 on the side (nothing pluggd in)

can run the standard oil pressure sensor, aftermarket oil temp and after market oil pressure.

i had this from gaugeplace.co.uk if anyone wants to know.

about a tenner?

cheaper than a sandwich plate

Does that screw into the sump? or the stock oil pressure sender point? just asking coz you cant gauge oil temp correctly from a pressurised location.

sorry, it goes to the stock oil pressure location.

(that not good for temp?)

I think its coz the oil is always passing the sender and you never get a true reading from the same part of oil. in the sump the oil is still and always covering the sender. I was getting a low reading when the sender was in the sandwich plate and it would drop as you rev the engine which makes me think the oil is rushing past the sender instead of evenly covering it. Does that make sense?

I was getting a reading of about 60-70 when idleing but 40-50 when driving. now i get a steady reading around 80-90 with it in the sump. When i had it in the sandwich plate an the car was warm, if i turned off the enigne the oil temp would rest at around 80 coz the oil was still, which is a true reading.

For the temp gauge you just need to screw in the oil temp sender in the adapter and wire it up accordingly simple really.

Air fuel just wire it to one of the lambda ecu pins (These air/fuel gauges are uselss, you really should buy a wideband like i have called the innovate system) im still to fit this tho.

Volt just wires up to A 12V SOURCE and a igntion etc.

im only a mild modder so these a/f will do for me, so long as i can see its not on one side or the other too long ill be happy. ta jim
