Hi all

Yesterday when accelerating moderately off a roundabout, my (stock) boost gauge went to 0 psi as usual but then just stuck there.

Now refuses to move one bit unless ignition is switched off. Starting the car flicks it to the middle again.

Car idles fine and is delivering the goods power wise.

Any suggestions on what / where to check?

Cheers.

This happened to mine and then miraculously came back as normal. No explanation I'm afraid, and just makes me keener to install a real gauge.

Simon

does it stay at 0 all the time, even at idle?

if so then check the pipes to the sensor (all the stuff is at the back of the bay drivers side near the brake servo.

SRRAE - Yes, performs fine.

Clarkey - Yes stays at zero from the second I start up to the second I stop again. I will check the pipes, hopefully something as simple as one off these disconnected.

Cheers.

Had a look by the servo and can't seem locate a pipe that is likely to be the feed for the boost gauge.

Can somebody point me in the right direction .

Right, not sure if this pic link will work, but;

The leftmost circled box, bolted to the inner wing, is the boost guage sender.

There should be a small (3mm) rubber pipe off the bottom, which attaches to a metal T piece, which is in the line going from the balance bar (drivers end) to the AIV solenoid..

There's a better description in that thread, really..

Hard to describe, and even harder to find if you don't know what you're looking for!

Cheers all who replied, found the pipe concerned which had split just below the sender (had a Toad alarm fitted nearby recently so it probably got knocked then.

Just need to find a new pipe now!
