Don't sound too promising mate.

From my limit experience I would say Turbo's.......

:(

Matty.

deffo worth changing the PCV valves in a desperate attempt to cure it without spending a fortune

Well being from just one side, very possibly the turbo seal is shot, i notice your de-catted, was that before or after yer new turbo's and did you fit new because of blown and is it the same side ????

Need to get up on the ramp and remove the rear turbo pipe to the offending side and get yer fingers inside to check for any play in the turbo and obvious signs of excessive oil.

Oh not turbo technics tubs are they ?

cheers

smithy

New turbos fitted before decatted.......

Take off valve and if you can blow through both ends it is fooked,TBH just replace them if you dont have any history of this ever been done;)

PCV valves replaced same time as turbos...approx 15mts ago looking at history.....

Where are u getting the smoke from, what kind of smoke is it, maybee oil burning from leaking rocker covers or camshaft seals and dripping onto the exhausts or is the smoke coming from the exhaust and i aint read your post properly?

cheers John Crisp

Sounds like it could be turbo to me but check breather pipes first. See if you have oil in the intake pipe after the breather, if you have then that is probably the cause. If the intake pipe to the turbo is oil free but the turbo outlet pipework is oily then suspect turbo seals. If all pipe work is clear on the intake side and you still have smoke at idle then it sounds very much like turbo seal failure allowing oil to leak into exaust side of turbo.

Good luck,

Paul (SparkZ)

Sorry Subs, my monies on a blown rear seal, you've gotta get the car up on a ramp and get the rear pipe off to be alot more certain, if it is, Turbo technics MAY do yer a good deal on replacement, though doubtfull and insist on race spec stagger gap seals, i insist on these as standard on the tubs i supply.

fingers crossed for yer, oh and PCV valves less than 2 years old, i would expect these now to last you your time with the Zed.

good luck

I am threaders..........if it is turbo........they are only 15mths old done approx 12k...oil change omtime.....check oil before any long distance travel .......have a FATT Blitz turbo time.....thats set on auto.......and I use it!!!!!!!!!!

Note I have all the guarentee etc from Turbo Technics...3 months out of date...........

If seals are all that is wrong, turbo technics do them for less than £200 including reballance. Obvioulsy ask for better seals. I would suggest you speak to them before you do anything as they may do a deal or even repair for free in the interest of customer service. I have had no problems with them in the past and they are usually very helpfull, if a tad slow when busy.

Good luck mate

Sparkz is right Subs, if you get confirmation from a garage (should take about an hour) seal has gone, ring technics quoting any numbers you got and they SHOULD sort you out a deal to replace them, with better hopefully and check the rest of the turbo out, though if you send one back, may as well do the two, real downside is the labour charge for the fitting.

I charge £1,075 all in delivered for a decent pair of hybrids, so give em a bell first, worth it.
