Hi, just looked on Ebay at a 300zx there, it looks to me like the front might be lower on the passenger side, the result of a front end crash perhaps. This often happens when the chassis leg is too low/high, poor repair etc.

Hard to tell as the photos are not at the right angle, but anyone interested might need to look hard.

Hope its not anyone on here, and if I am wrong I am sorry.

One side does look lower that the other slightly, but it could be a number of things, uneven drive, camera hot held straight, spring slightly sagged on one side, maybe the camera person has one leg longer than the other. ;)

Be careful what you say as it could land the forum in a lot of trouble.

Stuart

looks allright to me, expect one pretty damn major thing

look at the brake caliper on this:

i-2_B_L.JPG

then look at the position it should be in (apologies for using a non-stock caliper for this couldnt find a good pic of a stock one)

see my point?

it also states a brake upgrade but they look like standard callipers to me

"Advanced Dual AP big race 315mm upgraded"

The standard callipers can be used with the 315mm AP upgrade...

Looks quite nice to me, like all cars, you pays your money, you takes your chance, ive deffo seen worse.

looking at another one on there, a few question,

1 What bumper is this?

2 and is this all this true????

I have recieved a few emails asking various information about the car. starting, _____________________________________________ THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN AN IMPORT AND UK CAR, a uk car comes with full specification, including all the electrics, leathers (optional on jap car, so most have cloth interior). the jap import twin turbo had the same brakes as the uk non-turbo. this is due to all jap cars being restricted to 110mhp to comply with japanese laws. As the cars in uk are restricted to 155mph you get better brakes. jap cars also come with H speed rated tyres unless aftermarket. most uk high power cars have Z speed rated tyres. the jap use smaller ceramic turbos which spool up faster. UK cars use alu blades that can take more boost. jap cars usually have KMH clock and not MPH. if the radio is the standard nissan one then the jap radio will have to be replaced because of different radio frequencys

The link

And this???

the jap imports come with plastic headlight lens whilst the UK car has glass

my plastic seems just like glass!!!

SRRAE, I am not a fool, and I have been a salvage dealer for years. I have seen many cars "repaired" and they remain "bent".

I feel I am wasting my time with you as you probably know better, but if you look at the difference between the roof line and the bottom of the screen and the panel gap between the leading edge of the bonnet and the lights etc there is a difference.

As for your "suggestions" for the reason you talk out of your ear.

As for being carefull etc, of what?

Further, the brakes??? there is a claim of an upgrade but we cant see it, makes me wonder. How about you SRAAE???? or are you blind?

Sounds more like a description of the differences between a jap import supra and a UK spec one to me!

I don't think there was really any need to lay into Stuart like that, but.. never mind.

Being careful of the seller reading all this, deciding you are writing libellous statements about his car, and dragging the owners of the website through court.

And before you say 'Surely nobody would be anal retentive enough to do that!' - people have, to other forums and to this forum. And legally (until there is a test case to prove otherwise), publishers law states that Craig (as he is probably still the domain owner) is the legal publisher of the information printed on this forum, and he is the one taken to court.

Still, that's never stopped anyone before..

On the brake upgrade point - as someone else says, SE's 315mm upgrade can be used with AP discs and stock calipers (on an extension bracket, hence the odd caliper position, I believe). Ok, so I didn't think said upgrade fitted behind stock wheels, but, I could be wrong.

And on panel fit - it's always hard to tell in photos.. You could be right, you could be wrong - personally I couldn't decide.. Don't think I'd ever buy a car off eBay though - I'm not that trusting! :)

What suggestions? All I said was be careful what you say as the forum and the owner of the forum is liable for anything said. The person who owns that car could see that and then claim this as a reason for the car not selling as much.

Yeah! IM ****ING BLIND!!!! I CANT SEE A ****ING THING AND YET I STILL DRIVE A Z BET LIVE ON FOOTBALL MATCHES AND TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS IN MY SPARE TIME!!!!!

What do you thing? Do you REALLY think I am blind?

FFS, you didnt say look at the brakes. You said the the car was bent. I dont give a shit. As for the caliper position, there are benifits for moving brakes to different positions. At the Motor Show, the Audi Touring car the calipers where nearly upside down. Calipers work differently in different positions.

I suggest you do a little searching. This forum was in deep shit about a year ago because of some thing some one posted. However the person who posted wasnt in trouble but the forum runners where. It was administrators and moderators who has the days of worry, whether they would be sued for damages or lible.

Just thought I would tell you.

In responce,

Sraae said the car does in fact look low and the reasons could be " uneven drive, camera hot held straight, spring slightly sagged on one side, maybe the camera person has one leg longer than the other" This is where he was talking out of his ear.

None of the above would make any difference, or dos a sagging spring lower just one side of a car in relation to the rest of it?

As for being carefull? I said,"it looks as if it might be" not it is. I also said sorry if I was wrong, I also said it was hard to tell becasue of the angle of the photo's. If this is grounds for a legal case I would be very surprised, I would not place this forum at rist intentionally.

I did not say you called me a fool, but your response is consistent with you considering me to be a fool. But I know we judge others on our own standards, hence I was surprised by your ill considered reply. From your previous posts I should have known better.

"That" front view photo on Ebay has major perspective distortion. Its what you get when you use a wide angle lens close up. Makes the windscreen look miles away. It tells nothing about the state of that car other than its shiny and reddish and maybe centre panel between lights needs adjusting for bonnet gap eveness.

  • Author

Yes, could be. I was only hoping no one from here bought the car and then found out it was bent.

Good intentions, wished I had kept quiet now, but I still say I might be right, you do get a eye for these things when you have done it long enough.

Yeah but the doctor said I'd go blind if I did it TOO much :D
