well after my holiday i did'nt expect to come back and see everyone, having a go at me.....i must stress that i am no dodgy second hand car seller.....i have had zeds for many years, and have myself spent thousands on them....i am truly sorry sunbeds for your misfortune, with the zed i sold you but when i sold it to you in my knowledge it was in very good condition, and you bought it for a fair price, below £5000.....and at the time i was unsure as to why it idled high...you have traced it to a stuck valve ...thats fair enough.....as for the leaking rocker cover? as far as i am aware it don't have one?....only a plenuim chamber.."inlet manifold"....may be the garage means that....i was not aware of any leaks, they would of showed up on my drive......and as for the radweld....i recently changed the timing belt...and i never put any radweld in when i put it all back together?....so yet again do you trust your garage?...because i never put any in?......also as for the auto box,i had never owned an auto before and to tell you the truth i never thrashed the car while i owned it,so i was unaware of any problems with it and as you were aware when you test drove it,i was unsure of how to get the best from an auto.........

this is not an apology as i feel i sold you a straight car,in my opinion....but i do sympathise with you,and wish you the best.........sorry to offend anyone, but i am and have always been an avid 300 fan........i guess you can't keep everyone happy all of the time.....

From what i've read you're not particually to blame, a couple of months after he bought it it's broke. Not your fault or problem.

Just a case of "that's life".

I'll just add to all this by saying that I've had a few dealings with Jason and I've found him to be very honest and helpful.

From what I can see it's just one of those things.

thanks boys.......i don't think everyone will agree with you,but thanks...

Well Jiz, put it this way - are you telling us that you're not psychic?

Could you seriously not forsee every single problem that your Zed was ever going to have and written them down in a nice spreadsheet format?

It's not good what's happened, agreed. But we all have unexpected payouts on this cars. That's why a warranty can come in very handy.

I feel for Sunbeds but I can't see how he can blame you, personally.

I have to agree with you all here, i got my zed in perfect order, i mean everything was there and worked, it was hardy used the owner was scaired to drive her, and her husband would only drive it once a week to golf. Now all was sweet then a few months later the battery died, then the exhurst had a hole.... that just gose to show you that you never know whats round the next bend. (Wish i'd known that flood was round that bend).

Jiz -

It takes some kahunas to come back and try to deal with this tricky situation. I reckon you should be commended and thanked for it.

There've been some fairly mixed and polarised reactions to Sunbed's problems (who'd've thunk it on this forum?!) I've kept out of it myself, as it's all too incendiary and subjective.

It's been a damaging affair for the forum's reputation. I can imagine as a prospective buyer seeing that thread I'd be a little concerned. Still, it can be argued that it's better to jump in with both eyes open.

Sadly it looks like the forum's too late to be able to help Sunbeds with advice and good deals, which sucks.

Anyway - nice one for coming back and putting your point of view across.
