Hello my friends, I 'm back again withanother question!

 

Whats the best way to change the oil filter? According to the diagrams in the manual it looks very hard to reach.

 

I was searching the site for answers to this and got the impression that the pressure gauge can be crazy! I think this is our problem, is it "normal" for the guage to tell lies, or change its mind ie go from 4 to zero to 4 agian while idling?

I've never done it personally, but apparently its a pretty easy job - you shouldn't have to remove much more than the protective undertray to get to it. My mechanic friend who changed mine on my driveway didn't have any problems :)

In a word, yes :D The sender units are notoriously bad. 'Normal' operation for mine is to read around the half-way mark until the car warms up, then sit at zero unless I'm driving 'enthusiastically'...

real easy to do, did mine yesterday, and apart from getting my hand covered in oil when i took the filter off there was no drama. Struggled to get the sump plug off but I think it was overtightened before.

 

took about 45 mins all in I think (my first time) and I was a bit neurotic re-filling so that a took a little while.

LOL last time I did mine I didn't even have to jack the car up - not hard at all ;) I'd advise jacking it the first time though just to be sure ;)

I know what we are doing Saturday morning! We are both usually ok about doing stuff with cars but I think we are just a bit scared of the zx! :)
