I read about these before i got my zed, has anyone fitted an ecotek valve(s)? The benefits seem great  - have a read. Apparently you need two with engine sizes over 2.6 litres...

Any (related ;) ) thoughts?

Sorry, IMHO if it was that simple and beneficial then all car manufacturers would be fitting them as standard.

But they come in shiny colours and make a noise, and, and, everything! :D

Is anyone willing to try it? ;)

Seriously I see ,and agree, with what you're saying but lets say - for example they are talking crap about the fuel consumption, the other things are still good - smoother revs and improved acceleration. I'd take two of those things for £49 x 2 or whatever. Even one of them ;)

Obviously after some other guinea pig has tried it first lol ;)

Pete

Remember, on a turbo car they will be effectively disconnected from the intake tract while in +ve boost, because of the one way valve.

Also remember, there's a fair length of pipework between them and the intake on a Z, and it's a split manifold, so you'd only ever be introducing 'turbulence' (which is what they claim to do) at the back drivers corner (which feeds cylinder 6, arguably the hottest cylinder already, I really wouldn't want to lean that one out any more!). I very much doubt the effects of that turbulence would spread to anywhere else in the manifold - certainly not the passenger side of the manifold (which feeds the drivers cylinders).

I can see the benefit on older EFI cars, or carb'ed cars, and cars with a simple intake tract where the takeoff for the brake servo is either near the throttle butterfly, or roughly in the middle where it could equally effect all cylinders.

Anyway, IMHO, even if they do work, they're not going to make a blind bit of difference on a Z, except to make cylinder 6 run even leaner and hotter than it already does.. baaaaad thing. can we say, baaaaaaaaaad thing...

Oh btw - I beileve Vinz has two on his car (because they're shiny, right Vinz? ;))

A few have been fitted to 200sx's in the past with great results from everyone who used them. They even have a right up on the site on how to fit one to a 200sx as an example !

No one has ever said they don't do anything but good but the noise can be annoying !

If someone wants to buy them I will put them on mine to test if you like !!! I love being a guinea pig for anything !

Olly.

Bad, very bad!! And a rip off IMHO.

I know but it is similar, just that the Z has two one on each side !

I'm sure someone else has already fitted them in the states with good results but I cannot remember where I saw it !

I would be willing to try them though if someone had a couple lying around and let you guys know the results ?
