Howdy chaps and chappesses!

First thread here form a new bloke on the block (although I have spied on the forum for a few months now!). A question for the more experienced z-ers out there - especially those of you who are lucky enough to have fitted one of these high quality pieces of tatt that S.E. have the balls to call an induction kit! I bought my z32 a few months ago with this thing already attached (just getting my excuse in for having it!) and the beautiful red paper filters a dirty brown colour. I phoned S.E. for a price on a couple of new ones and they're 17.95 each. Does anyone know if there are any cheaper suitable ones around? Or preferably, if there are any reusable foam upgrades which will fit this kit? Of course, the ideal alternative would be to send the whole kit on a long holiday to the landfill site and get a proper kit installed, but I'm currently in 'budget' mode!!

Cheers,

Simon

Welcome to the madhouse Simon!

I'm sure somebody mentioned these filters a while a go but I can't seem to find it.

I think they said they are off a Mitsubishi of some sort?

Lets see how long your budget mode lasts :D

Thanks for the welcome!

I've got a couple of bank jobs lined up, so hopefully budget mode will soon be vanquished! Just need to get the getaway car sorted!

Were they not off a Mitsubishi 4wd type thing. Probably better finding a second hand filter from someone off here instead of throwing more money away on paper filters.

Yep! I'd have to agree with that. Certainly don't see the point in forking out an extra 40quid plus each year when I could have some reusables. That's an extra 40 quid of Optimax and 100 miles!

Yeah it was a 4x4 I think.

You could just slot a pair of pink bog rolls over the end for a quick fix and they'll come in handy if your brakes ever fail! ;)

I have a feeling they're about £7 each from Halfords. Just take one in and ask the oik behind the counter to find you one the same (except cleaner! LOL:D).

Cheers guys! I think I'll head in to Halfords and purchase myself a couple of their finest for now and then upgrade to one of Smithys kits when they need a changin' next time! Now, is it going to be more embarrasing if they think I own a Toyota Hilux or, if they know that my supercar has Toyota Hilux filters as an upgrade?!!
