Shit scary, eh?? And I'm in bloody Hampshire too!

Can't decide though whether the programme's straight up, or if it's Quentin having another go at the 'grey import' scene... =(

Old Queenie Quentin Eh????

One day that sanctimonious middle of the roader will fall plum of that High Horse he so eloquently gallops about astride frown.gif

I know the stolen car business is way, way outta control but what is it with this guy?? he is on a one man mission against Jap Imports (he is a car dealer in his spare time too....whats the betting the bald old coot got stitched up with a hooky old LS400 a few years back and was pyschologically damaged beyond repair hehe)....

The program to be fair had some eye opening stuff....but QW has been ranting and tirading against Jap imports for some years now.

I would say without doubt, he has a hidden agenda.

Now then... anyone want to buy a veilside kitted 91TT with a slight scorch mark around the bulkhead LOL smile.gif

Glen

I felt that the main focus was on 4x4's and very little attention was paid to anything else. After all this is where the majority of the market lies. Also, they concentrated mainly on new models, rather than the 'antique', low value stuff that most of us have. Yes, it wouldn't surprise me at all if a few more of us get tugged while minding our own business, but I for one doubt whether many of our imports are nicked. However, it would be wise to take a shufti around the VIN plate (mine looks totally sound and original) but I can't find the chassis number to compare. Anyone know where it is on a RHD ? From the manual it looks like it could be on the bulkhead.

Now would probably be a good time to check over the car just to make sure everything is legal - if there's a risk of a few free MOT's going around. Check the brake & fog lights and the insides of the tyres etc

Let's be careful out there ....

Jeez mates now that is scarey, the guy at the begining must of been well pi??ed off.

Odd thing when I bought my first import zed 4 years ago I was intending to follow up the owner in Japan , but when I got close I suddenly thought "what if its stolen" not helped by the dealer I bought it off doing a midnight disapear off his pitch.I think though 10+ year old zeds arnt really gonna be the target for the jap mafia, but UK plod will...What out there`s a t?at about.

andy m8,

number you want is on the bulkhead under the rubber strip,

Glen

gayboy quinten has been slagging imports for far too long now, Cars are stolen all over the world and a small percentage of these may be shipped abroad but I think you have more chance of buying a dodgy motor if you buy a second hand escort from a trader than you have of buying a dodgy Z from Japan.

Paul

Glenn,

What rubber strip, Mines supposed to be uk! but after watching the conversion artists at work! Bloody hell the conversion racket is a ??????

One two.. a one two three four...

If I die before I roost,

At least in Heaven I can boost..

Well I got a UK Zed and it was a pile of convoluted twank.

Bought a TTJap and it moistens NUNS man !!

I hate one sided Journalism. And that Watchdog program was just that... all we needed (and this would have been FUNNY) was Anne Robinson jumping out of the Van whilst Quentin was chatting with the Yakuza and shouting

"YOU ARE THE WEAKEST CHINK...GOODBYE"

Normally I would never resort to racist language to get a laugh but i couldnt resist that guyZ smile.gif

Glen.

I seem to remember reading that old Quentin has been done for selling stolen cars himself many years ago!

Somehow I don't think that the phone number they handed out is going to get much use.

"If you are worried about your cars history give the police a call and they will be happy to confiscate it from you and leave you in debt for many years!"

LOL

Some arse will do it.
