Thinking about getting an import from these guys. recommended by some non Zed drivers with good experience of them. Anyone here know anything about them?

Featured Replies

Picking up my `91 TT on Wednesday that was ordered through Newera (long drive to Densole near Folkestone in my mates knackered Mk 1 Toyota MR2 on the way down :( ...long drive back to Birmingham in the Zed :D )

Service was very good, Miguel the main guy in Japan knows his onions and can`t do enough to help...though have to say that although they`re very polite, the British end of the operation didn`t always seem to be as on the ball as they could be, but thats just a small gripe.

Obviously can`t comment on the car itself as I ain`t driven it yet (!) but I`ve got absolutely no reason to think it`s going to be anything less than superb.

Will know more come Wednesday!

Donsole?

The dialing code on their web page isn't a Folkestone number, was that their agent or a warehouse?

Just curious as I'm only 10mins from Folkestone.

OMG! I've just looked at their web site and they use MotorMall, I'm not going to post any libalous content but lets just say the Zed they had on their forcourt for a long time left a little to be desired, and someone who used to work for them had a few interesting stories to tell.

Hope yours is a good one though m8.

Tim

Friday

Let us know what you think when you get her

Yep, sorry m8, didn't mean to pi55 on your bonfire, I'm sure it will be spot on.

Watch the M2 on your way home there are a lot of cameras, and the bridges if you use the M20 ;)

Tim

Ok, now I`m slightly worried!

Well, it`s too late for anything now so guess I`ll just have to bring the heavy mob down with me to sort `em out if it turns out to be a sh*tter! (Though reckon "Big Trev" and "Ripper" will have a job fittin behind the seats of the MR2...:D )

Cheers for the info on the cameras Tim, I`ll be taking it damn steady on the way back anyway until I lose a bit of the lead in my right foot!;)

my mate just bought an aristo vertex from him. an we would say they were exellant company 2 deal with:D

Feeling a bit better now...:) Though still got the pre-delivery jitters!:D

No sleep for me tonight then...;)

Got the car, and its........fantastic!:D :D :D

When I picked it up from Motormall it was like walking onto the set of The Fast and The Furious......high performance Jap cars EVERYWHERE.

My Zed drives like a dream (damn, the journey back was fun!)...the only two miniscule gripes are that there is slight cracking of the paint on the right hand side of the spoiler which I wasn`t made aware of (but which I`m removing anyway to fit an aftermarket carbon fibre jobbie) and I was promised a full tank of petrol which didn`t materialise...but in the great scheme of things, I ain`t that bothered!

To sum up, I`m chuffed beyond belief and would highly recommend Newera to any potential buyers out there.

Will be posting in General Chat soon to make my official introductions...

Friday.

Good on you, welcome to the mad world of zed ownership, may all your repair bills be little ones!!!;)

Now's the time to :

and

c) Take out shares in petrol companies. :D

Great new friday

Looks like I'll be going with them to find me a new Zed then, unless anyone on the forum has an appropiate Zed for sale before early/mid August.

Will be gutted to see the end of my UK spec with mega miles. Perhaps I'll keep her as a restoration project. Anyone have any ideas about the most cost effective way to handle the insurance on this

The cracking on the stock spoiler is common, there aren't many original ones which haven't started cracking.

Pete

I know some of the MR2 girls like NewEra and I haven't personally heard a bad word about them.

Cheers guys!

Posidrive: I think Miguel has just shipped over a late model TT, he mentioned it in his last email and I think its on the Newera website if you`re interested.

Ajay: Funnily enough, picked up the forms to apply for a Shell Nectar card the other night...got a feeling its going to come in handy! :D

Friday.

He recently had a white onewhich is not the colour for me. Don't really want red either since my current heap is red and I don't want two the same colur sitting on my drive.

Will check the web site again though. Thanks for the tip

Friday,

What sort of job dif they do with the foglight conversion? Where did they put the switch, etx

Well, instead of cutting into the body work or hanging it off the bottom they converted one of the reversing lights to a fog. The switch for this was mounted just to the left of the steering column, hardly noticeable at all.

Sounds good to me. And one final question. I suppose they destricted her, so did she come with ZR rated tyres. I've heard that jap imports often only have HR tyres which could invalidate any insurance

Yup on both counts, though the ZR`s she came with were part worn (to be honest not that much). Even so, have just ordered a full set of Goodyear Eagle F1`s which should make her stick nicely :D

Friday.

Yeh i think the white one he told you about was my one full greddy bodykit in pearl white, 18 inch alloys, trust exhaust and a few other mods. I have to say brilliant service from miguel but again the london side of things a bit slow though.

Again id recommend him to any1 very good guy and honest.
