my mates just bought some chrome 17" alloys for his zed.

the wheels catch the calipers :(

where can we get some wheel spacers to cure this?

its got to be ones with extended nuts, not just the

universal discs halfords sell.

any help with this appreciated.

thanks.

Hi mate,

My 16s did this - I got some 8mm spacers (3+5mm each side) on the fronts, now the calipers are just cleared. The backs were fine cos the calipers are smaller obviously.

There was still enough bolt left, but I wouldn't like to go much wider.

Got the universal spacers from Halfords.

I suppose it depends on the alloys as to whether the nuts will reach the bolts enough.

Pete

thanks Pete,

yes he has some of those disc, two 5mm ones so 10mm extra clears the calipers but nuts wont go on, he needs a proper

kit with extended bolts.

anyone else??

Can't you change the wheels for ones of the proper offset?

If you use hub spacers then they would have to be pretty thick for the bolts to fit behind and the wheels might be too far out from the arch?

You would probably have to get them made up by an engineering company and won't be cheap.

I paid about £250 for my rear ones for the wide arch kit and that was cheap :(

I don't get the 'extended bolts' bit??? The bolts are all part of the hub so whatever spacer you put on, the bolts will still remain the same. I have chunky discs on the front whick kinda act like a spacer and I pressed in longer studs from Nismo (50mm) as I wasn't happy with the amount of thread 'poking through'.

HTH.

But the spacer goes onto the hub between that and the wheel??? ;) Just the same as having chunky discs really :)

I think I was reading it wrong. When he said extended bolt kit, I thought he meant something that extended the existing bolts!!??

GOTCHA - took a few readings but I see what you mean now :) Yes you were reading it wrong LOL ;)

thanks guys,

well he could buy more wheels but hes already

bought these ones and he likes them.

they were advertised as fitting 300zx

plus hes just put a brand new set of tyres on them.

suppose he should have checked first but there you go.

ill show him the thread.

thanks again.
