All it's cracked up to be - an important redressing of the balance or a racist party ? You decide !

Agreed.

Like most parties, I agree with some of their policies and disagree with others.

Some of the ones I disagree with are pretty objectionable though!

For example "We reject the idea that Britain must forever be obliged to subsidise the incompetence and corruption of Third World states by supplying them with financial aid. We will link foreign aid with our voluntary resettlement policy, whereby those nations taking significant numbers of people back to their homelands will need cash to help absorb those returning. The billions of pounds saved every year by this policy will also be reallocated to vital services in Britain. "

I haven't heard anyhting which is strictly racist yet from them ..I'm open to comments/discussion though.

Moderators, let's just ditch this thread, sure there are plenty of other places where Nelson can 'discuss' this sort of stuff. Don't really think it's appropriate for this site.

Why do you want to ditch it? If you don't want to read it, don't read it.

It's a perfectly valid subject to debate though.

Fair point. My last word on the subject, not got a problem with politics being discussed in a general manner but I don't think posting links to specific political parties is really a good idea or 'appropriate'.

Racism is not believing that people are different, but believing that some people are inferior and then acting on that belief.

Recognising that the best way to run a country is to allow each country to protect its own cultural and genetic inheritance is only racist if this is backed up with policies which treat other (immigrant) races in 'unacceptable' ways. What is and isn't acceptable is what the debate should be about.

No country would (rightly) be happy about other nationalities flooding into their country (because it's wealthier with better infrastructure etc.) and then not bothering to learn the language properly and building their own religious buildings and being favoured in jobs over the natives etc. This can only happen in the UK !!! We are crowded enough !!

You have to be really carful what you say on the internet as you may not come across as you think you are trying.

I just wrote a huge reply but decided not to post it as some people may say its racist. This country has become so politically correct that saying anything about some one of a different race is racist straight away regardless of whether it is true or not.

All I will say is, asylum seekers is a HUGE problem in this country. The UK has the most applications in the EC and we accept more. I feel confident in saying that most people I know, and most peple on this forum think that too many people are coming in and it has been prooved time and time again that they are taking this country for a ride. Look at the Ireland problem. Seekers getting hand outs in Ireland, jumping on the ferry and then claiming in the UK too!.

Some do need help and I'm proud to say as a British person, we help people who need it and we help them the best we can.

But there are people who come here just for an easier life. I know some one who works in an office where they process them and they say you can tell the different people. Ones who come for an easy life and ones who are really in need of help. This person also said that most of them are here for the easy life.

The BNP are the only party who have admitted that this farce has got to stop. How ever their methods ARE racist and I dont want people like that representing my/our country. The other parties are stuck in this over PC world where if they say anything about it they will be attacked by anti racist parties

I know some one who is leaving this country because of this problem and I know some one who came to this country in the mid 80s and they said there are too many asylum seekers here too.

P.S. Does this sound racist at all, as it is not meant to be and I dont consider my self as one.

It's bad enough being run by morons who read and believe their own bull-shit, let alone a party who get all their ideas from 'The Sun'.

It's all bollox anyway. No matter who is in charge on the surface, the real power lies in the un-elected civil service.

I subscribe to the Jeremy Clarkeson theory on politics:-

"A governments job is to erect park benches and change the bulbs in street lights. And that's pretty much it."

Wish they'd ALL just fuk off and leave us alone. Who cares what those moronic self servicing bum lickers think!

Seeing as the question is about BNP, it seems highly 'appropriate' to me to post a link to it! No point in brushing it under the carpet, BNP does exist whether you agree with their policies or not. I don't know enough about them to comment but if you have some issues then lets hear them! The subject has been raised for you........

It has to be the choice of those running the forum whether this sort of thread is acceptable. However, bear in mind that it's this kind of thing that has resulted in most of the longest standing members of this forum no longer bothering to come on here unless they're bored.

As a result, the current members have lost out on a wealth of experience. And that's real experience and not the "folklore of technical knowledge" which abounds these days.

When people question whether something like this should be on the forum, consider the long term benefits of keeping the forum closer to 'on topic' and not allowing threads which some people are going to find distasteful. Which, in this case, I do.

"Use this for non technical or non Z related chat"

the other day I spoke to a little old lady who voted for them. She wasnt the 'send em back' brigade just a kind old lady like everyones gran. However she was very dissilusioned as she has to pay full rent and all bills, full council tax (except for the single occupier discount) out of a pension which leaves her with next to nothing. She is upset by asylum seekers and the kid gloves treatment that they are recieving by the local council when they are given homes with all re decoratiing and everything paid for.

She used the phrase being thrown on the scrapheap after a life of hard work.

Now I remember the NF when I was a kid, they were hanging around outside the match when I first started going to football dishing out leaflets and so on but times have changed and its not people with skinheads and DrMartins that vote for the BNP it is regular off the street public and the seats they win are proving this.

I prefer not to vote...there all tw**s :D

Im gonna get taxed to f**k whoever it is LOL

I'm not going to post my opinions, but what I would say is that someone's voting for them.

How many Local Elections and Bi-Elections have they won, how many seats do they hold in local government?

There must be a serious undercurrent for the BNP to be considered a more viable alternative to the two 'main stream' parties.

There is an alternative... Dig Up Screaming Lord Sutch!

Tim :D

I've got alot of friends from different cultures BUT I am still racist!

We all are! We all make prejudice decisions based on how people look. Its human nature.

Anyway Klu Klux Klan? Racist? Discuss?

Nelson

I would make myself very very aware of the difference between immigrants, illegal immigrants and asylum seekers before spouting too much more.

Regarding immigration, find out what "legal" immigration does to any economy and why it exists. Also, trace back the waves of immigration and decide where you want to draw the line to make sure you're on the "right" side of it.

Regarding asylum, fair enough it can and probably is being abused. But thank whatever God you may or may not believe in how lucky you are to live here.

What has God or any god got to do with it.

Yeah we are lucky to be here, but we paid for it, and there has been hundreds of years of blood shed and bad times to get here.

Less than 100 years ago women where killed because they said they wanted the vote. They stood up for what the believed in, the didnt run to another country, and they did it. Blacks in America and in the UK where killed only 40 years ago because they said they wanted to be treated the same and they should not be prosicuted for who and what they are. They stood up and faught for thier rights and to make their country a better place, and they did it. They didnt run off to another country. If these asylum seekers really do want to have a better life for themselves and their family they should stay where they are and fight for thier rights and fight to make thier country a better place. If the oppostition to the way the country is run always run away, the country will never change for the better.

Calm down Stu, it's an expression not a religious statement. And by the way, you're an immigrant as well you know.

Im not starting anything im just saying.

Also that argument is also very old and boring. Yeah we where invaded by Saxons, Normans, Romans, Vikings, Scots, Irish and the Osmonds tried talking nearly 1000 years ago since any the last forgien occupier. You show me any country which hasnt had any breeding from any other place in the world.

If we used that argument I should be able to claim any state help from Italy, France, Norway to name a few places, but I dont because I am British!

If he was an immigrant, I think he would know, yes!

i live in a town with a large asian population and when they first moved here they were persecuted for the same stuff that asylum seekers are now (taking jobs etc), but now are an accepted part of the culture, as asylum seekers will probably be soon too. one of the reasons they accept benefit is because they dont have permits to work, so its true to say we should be looking at our own government as much as the immigrants.

frankly though, nevermind how terrible you think the main parties are, the BNP would do an even worse job of it!! i have taken time to read their manifesto (im studying politics at the moment) and its complete rubbish. its fairly obvious that their recent succes in elections was just a way of people letting the government know how they felt about the situation.

hopefully parties will do something about the numbers of false claims. putting the money they pay for asylum seekers into correcting the problems with their countries would seem like the sensible answer, but without the situation getting this bad here first who would have concented to a government paying money for other countries being rebuilt with our tax money.

this is just my opinion though, not criticising anyone! (never thought id be debating this stuff when i first started posting on this site, thought i could leave the politics in the classroom)

We do have more to say than just stuff about cars. We get on well enough and know eachother enough to respect eachothers views. Also this is why it is in a General Chat page. We CHAT about anything. Its what friends do.
