My car starts better when its been left for a few days. Why?

Why does my car start better when its been standing for a few days?

My Z starts up normally like every one elses I suspect, only needing a few turns before the car starts.

But if my car has not been started for a few days, I hardly get time to turn to key before the starts up. I dont even hear the starter motor going.

Why does it start better after being left?

Strange

On a more serious note, i've noticed that with both the Silvia 1.8T and the Charade GTti i used to own, never found out why though. :)

Strange:confused:

My car has NEVER failed on the first turn of the key.

Mine either.

Do you mean two or three second cranks or do you mean two or three attempts to start it ?.

Could it have something to do with the spark plugs being totally dry ?

Makes no difference to mine, even when the battery was almost totally dead it would start on about half a rotation of the engine.

Mine generally starts first crank, sometimes the start will kick over a few times but i think that sounds cool :)

only time my car has failed to start first time was when I left it for 2 weeks, it started 2nd time no problems, I think I was a bit to cautious starting it though first time.

Yeah I dont mean it takes 2 or 3 goes. I mean the starter turns the engine 2 or 3 times, ie. starts after about a second or so of starter.

But if my car has been left standing for a day or so. The starter doesnt even have time to turn. You dont get chance to hear that starter motor noise. As soon as I turn the key to start the car its started.

Buy a new car Stu,sounds like the engine needs a rebuild:D;)

I was going to think of something witty to reply to that, but I am so knackered I cant be bothered.

:D;)LOL

Sometimes after a long, hard run the electrics can suffer from heat soak. Turbo charged cars are prone to it. All that heat under the bonnet. My Supra used to be a tw@t for that and my Saab.

You would have thought having twin turbos would make it worse but never really suffered from it with the Z.

You worry too much Stu. :D

Sounds like your bottom end has gone m8 :( First sign will be brown underpants followed by a very strong smell of sh1t. Best go see your doctor :D

I also get this, the car will start instantly when its cold, but when its hot it turns it over 3 or 4 times before it gets going, I thought it was me doing something wrong.
