Hi guys/girls,

Ive just brought a non turbo 300zx manual on a j plate - its a jap import!!

Basically i need to know where the washer jets on the bonnet connect to!! The pipe connects the two jets but then it just ends - does it connect to the washer bottle? is so where abouts as i cant see alot in the engine bay!!

Also i was out for a spin the other day, when i stopped the car was dripping cold antifreeze from about 6inches infront of the passenger compartment! About level with the NSF wheel. I check the coolant level in the rad and it was absolutely full to the max. I filled the water bottle on the front right of the engine bay, and after a few secs it all peed out the bottom of the car!! Now every time i park anywhere it drips a small puddle of water on the floor then stops. I have done approx 100miles in the car, and the red level has dropped about a centimeter from the top of the cap fitting!! Is this just overfilled or is something bigtime knackered - please help as im getting nervous!! Thanks for any help - i love these cars

That water bottle to the right of the rad (assuming you're facing the front of the car) is an overflow tank and should not be filled up. It does have a dipstick though, just to confuse people ! ;)

I'd be one of theose 'divs' that filled it!!

And had a nice dumping of coolant over my road!!

Problem sorted now tho!

Matty.

The screen washer bottle is located at the rear N/S, lift the tailgate and the filler is on the back sill. Glad I've also found out not to fill the bottle in the engine for the rad, does this mean you fill the rad direct as theres no other means visible.

Guess yours may be different but on every TT I've seen the screen washer bottle is on the OSF.

And yes, you fill the rad through the cap, it is not the type of system that has a pressurised expansion tank.

 Got me worried then so I've just had a check and my washer pipes go to the rear or look like they do and no other filler bottle in the front. Its not a TT, N/A SWB so maybe diff setup unless the Japs nicked it.

Thanks for the help with the rad problem!!

Does anyone know if the washer jets do connect directly to the washer bottle, or is there another connection somewhere? The back washer works fine, but i cant even see what thats connected to!!

Does anyone know if i can download a full service manual from somewhere/one ?

Thanks again for all the help in setting my tiny mind at ease!!!

http://www.300zx.org.uk/tech_00.htm excellent site for info etc and a downloadable pdf section on the full service manual

Well actually no ... The Service Manual is located on this site (and one in Holland) but the whole lot is not downloadable - you have to view page by page. Some kins soul may do you a copy of the CD version though.

Good luck,

Simon

That explains a lot, after a serious thrashing my car tends to dump a load of coolant on my parking space, I have checked the levels and the temp never goes above half even in hot weather in traffic.

Thought it was the water pump at first, but I guess it's not :D
